Pleasantly surprised

The Westin was beautiful and personally I think even nicer than some of the luxury hotels I've stayed at that are pricier in the area. The rooms were a nice size, bed was comfy and the bathroom was nice. My husband and I were only in town for a night but got to enjoy the lobby bar during our stay. Loved that the hotel was right in center city, provided parking and close to everything. Would definitely stay here again!

Great stay in Philly!

The staff were all warm and welcoming, and there are great shops and places to eat within a short walk. Miss Gerri, the concierge, was very helpful and knowledgeable. The room was comfortable and we very much enjoyed our stay.

OVERNIGHT STAY, CLEAN ROOM, NICE BAR/LOUNGE. WE STAYED IN THE CITY OVERNIGHT, HAD A NICE DINNER CLOSE BY, AND STAYED THE EVENING AT THIS HOTEL.

Floor drying fan two doors down in the hall left on from the time we checked in and still running when we checked out. Open condom wrapper on the floor. No kidding. Between the bed and nightstand. The bar at Winthrop & Valentines staffed by the worst bartender ever. 6 people at the bar. Yet the bar was littered with dirty glasses and wreaked of stale beer at 5pm. All while she chatted away. Too many good choices in center city to give you another chance. This place used to be really nice.

Great location! Great Staff!

the location of the hotel was amazing, right in the middle of center city, 10 mins walk to the liberty bell and shopping all around. the Staff was extremely nice- gave us free coffee and let us see the velvet parking after check out. I ould highly recommend this hotel!

Very Rude Staff

The hotel staff was rude and unhelpful. They don't understand the concierge service that goes with the Westin brand and need to be trained. I did not feel welcome in the hotel at all! The rooms are fine, but the phone and refrigerator did not work. The bed was very comfortable and was the only thing I liked about the hotel.

Nice hotel, but room lacking cleanliness

Pros: Location, service, room size.
Cons: Cleaning staff; allow for dropping off bags at front of hotel before self parking.
Location: Walking distance to most of the museums and monuments in Philly.
The hotel is in a very convenient location in the city and connected to a shopping mall. Self parking is a nice option but it's a long walk from the car to the hotel carrying heavy luggage. The room was large and bedding was comfortable. Hotel was family friendly. The service at the front desk was fantastic, but the cleaning staff did not live up to expectations [back to back days without vacuuming the carpet, dirty towels and drinking glasses left in the room, hair in the shower, etc.]. Management was very apologetic, so as long as the cleaning team gets their act together, I would recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel in center city.

We usually stay at the ritz Carlton in the city but chose the Westin this time for the value. Better than the Ritz!! This will be our new hotel when we visit the city.

Pros: Lobby looked nice.
The room/bathroom was dirty with stains on walls. The hallway smelled funny - like mushrooms.

Fair hotel in the heart of the city

Pros: Great location. Right in the heart of the city. Close to great restaurants.
Cons: The service needs to be improved.
The hotel has slipped in the past few years. It seems old and tired even with the renovations to the lobby and bar. We liked the bar/restaurant much better before the redo. The service was poor in our view. The room was ok but we barely had any towels and no bath robes. We called 4 different times over 2 hours to ask if someone could send up the robes and they never did. It turned into a joke to see if they would ever turn up or if the staff would explain what happened but no explanation was given.
