The host is incredibly rude and condescending and the apartment was dirty in several ways. The shower liner was covered in mold, throw blanket was stained, and kitchen dishes were dirty. The coffee pot had old coffee in it. There wasn’t even a sponge and dish soap. The apartment itself has far more wear and tear than the pictures depict, every wall is covered in scuff marks. When I reached out to the host repeatedly during our stay about the concerns he dismissed me and never apologized. Upon leaving I asked for my cleaning fee returned since the apartment was not clean, he said no and threatened to charge me for “damages” - claiming I was responsible for the dirty dishes and MOLD (because growing mold upon arrival is possible right?). Very disappointed and have never experienced such a rude host with zero understanding or remorse for issues. Booking it was easy and the location and arrival instructions were convenient. Upon arrival we had some concerns because the door handle to the apartment fell off when we were simply opening the door. The apartment seemed tidy but no frills. The walls are marked up with scratches and could use some TLC/paint job, as could the furniture; some of which was stained. The beds are more like cots, very thin mattress and flimsy frame and not enough Bedding (lacking a top sheet). Ultimately we were very uncomfortable in the apartment and decided to leave a day early even though the host was communicative and offered to send a cleaner. However, the issues didn’t seem resolvable by a cleaner. Lastly, after leaving the apartment my partner appeared to have bug bites that looked very similar to bed bugs!!!
