It was a good place for the night and accessible to where I needed to go for an appointment. The price was reasonable as well except the noisy couple that arrived outside in the middle of the night and didn't seem to care about next door neighbours. I'm not sure what was that all about but, It's good to have such accommodation as needed. Dinning options are a drive away.Thanks

My stay was three nights in March. I was in room 46 which is at the very far end of the row of units. I have more 'pros' than 'cons' for this hotel. Staff is absolutely the friendliest, most helpful and pleasant than any hotel I've stayed at in Lindsay. They totally made my trip. I felt welcome and they were eager to accommodate any request. Rooms have newer lock system and the card key worked perfectly. First time ever not to have a key card work for three days without needing to be recoded. I appreciated that. The beds and pillows were just perfect. Super comfortable. It was fantastic. I appreciated that the comforters on the bed had some weight to them. I could turn the heat down for the night and still be toasty and comfortable. I requested a coffee station and the coffee was dark brew. WOW Fantastic coffee. Normally you just endure the hotel coffee until you can get somewhere for a good one. This coffee was better than McDonalds and as good as Tim Hortons dark roast. The room is dated for sure. The bathroom door was wonky and you had to lift it a bit to close it and the doorknob on that door was loose. Being in the last room at the end of the chain, it took a LOOOONG time to get good hot water. I was looking forward to a hot bath in the deep tub but that didn't happen. I will absolutely book to stay at this location again. Very convenient location for me. Easy parking right outside the door. I enjoyed my stay with family!!

Always enjoy my stay at the Howard Johnson when I attend dog shows at Lindsay. The staff is attentive, the rooms are clean, and the motel itself is well maintained. Highly recomended.

Absolutely disgusting!!! DO NOT GO HERE! Staff are unbelievably rude. Dirty dirty dirty place! Stinks like cigarettes and stains all over. I left because of the filth and they refused to refund my money! You can stay at the Ramada for the same price and it’s spotless!

Warning, read before booking a room
Water tastes like sulphur and what they call queen sized beds are a typical double that they claim are queens. Good thing there are 2 so a couple is forced to sleep apart, but would not be comfortable for two couples. Everything is falling apart, the heating/ ac unit was so loud that it was difficult to sleep through and the baseboard heater in the bathroom was too close to the toilet that anyone, including a child will burn themselves as we did. Little to no hot water to bathe either. Will never recommend this hotel to friends or go again.

Dear Charlie,Thank you for your feedback. Our records indicate you stayed with us while attending a recent dog show in Lindsay. At the time of reservation and check-in, our pet policy including deposits and pet fees are clearly conveyed to all guests travelling with pets. Pet deposits and cleaning fees are a hotel industry standard. Upon arrival, you expressed your disagreement with the pet deposit and fees necessary for your pet to stay in your room. Hence, you signed and expressed your written agreement to refrain from housing your pet in your hotel room during the course of your stay. At the time of check-out, our housekeeping attendants observed a notable amount of pet hair in your room. Upon review of our security camera footage, it was observed that your pet did indeed enter your room and remained in the room over the course of your stay with us. As clearly noted in the pet policy you signed, once a pet has entered a guest room, a deep cleaning fee will apply. We are sorry that your disagreement with standard hotel pet policies and subsequent charges may have affected the enjoyment of your experience and stay with us. We wish you the best in your future travels.

This hotel is abismal Small, dated, no coffee, cups, bath,ice bucket or ice, glasses. Shower leaks and 200 dollars for incidentals, whole room isn't worth 200 dollars. Keeps you dry in the rain, that's about it.

Our welcome letter you received at time of check-in, invites all guests to contact our guest services agents for amenities such as individually wrapped disposable cups, coffee pods, coffee maker and ice to be delivered to their room at any time during their stay. Our records indicate you reserved a smoking room with one double bed online via a third-party booking agent. Our outdoor-access property is set up with individual PTAC units in each room which are not connected from room to room. Therefore, a few select rooms remain designated as smoking rooms for guests who prefer this convenience. As advertised on all booking platforms, all rooms with one double bed are furnished with a stand-up shower only. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us. We do encourage all guests to contact our hotel directly at time of reservation to ensure our onsite guest services agents may assist in choosing a room which best suit their needs. We do hope you will reconsider staying with us again in one of our more spacious rooms in the future.

Went to Lindsay For my nephews wedding and booked two rooms, when we checked in the windows to both rooms were wide open, I thought that was strange but when I entered the room I immediately knew why. The room had a terrible smell! The rooms looked nothings like advertised on the website, the sheets on the beds were so old that you could actually see through them, the corner of the box sping was all ripped. The worst part of the stay was the unsafe feeling of staying there, the doors to the rooms were all dented in like they had been beat on and the screens were bent like they had been pried out a few times. It looked like someone had tried to break into the rooms a few times. While we were out we kept our belongs with us because we definitely did not feel comfortable leaving our stuff there. Definitely would never stay there again and would never recommend it to anyone.

Our welcome log indicates that your son expressed everyone’s happiness and satisfaction with the accommodations when he returned to the lobby to reset keys after accidentally locking them in the room. Should your concerns have been brought to our attention during the course of your stay, we would have given our utmost to reassure you of any uncertainty and offer solutions to ensure your peace of mind. We appreciate your concern regarding the appearance of our exterior doors. Please rest assured, our locks were recently upgraded to RFID secure locks for enhanced guest security. We are in the course of retrofitting all outer casings for the new locks. The outer casing to be installed are solely for cosmetic appearance and bear no effect on the integrity of the locks. Furthermore, our property is equipped with security cameras throughout all public areas and guest services agents are available to assist 24 hours a day. For the health and safety of all guests in keeping with COVID-19 precautions, it is standard housekeeping practice to open windows to keep rooms well-ventilated between each guest’s stay. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best in your future travels.

The rooms were old, not maintained properly. Even the doors of the bathrooms were not locking. Had a terrible stay. They say they serve breakfast but all we could find in packed croissants n muffins. No bread, milk etc. Please avoid if possible.

Definitely not what was expected, it is a low budget motel. Finishing's were not great i.e. floorboards were uneven and dangerous, window broken but taped. No food available except a few snacks, noisy air/heater unit. Blanket not available, no water or coffee/tea maker in room. Staff were friendly enough.

You stated during our conversation that you felt that our carpet could have been cleaner, but other than that your room was clean and comfortable during your multi night stay. I clarified that our carpets are steam cleaned on a regular interval and always vacuumed prior to guests’ arrival. We do hope you stay with us the next time in area so you may enjoy our updated LVP flooring, which will be installed in the coming months.

This property should not bear the name of a Johnson Howard nor a Whydham hotel. Please change it to a motel. Breakfast was supposed to be continental but no juice, no jam, not much at all. The staff were friendly but that couldn’t compliment the place at all. Good thing we just spent 2 nights due to limited options in Lindsay.

From speaking to you directly it sounded like you visited many locations and had a wonderful time. It was a pleasure to personally interact with both of you during breakfast throughout your stay. You did ask if we had jam, I advised you, we did not at the moment but your feedback/recommendations would allow us to introduce additional items in the future. Our continental breakfast currently consists of the following items; Fruit, Muffins, Hot Cereal, Croissants, make your own Waffles station, Yogurt, Butter, Tea, and fresh Coffee. I observed you enjoying all of these items for a minimum of 30 minutes each morning. I do hope the directions I gave you on your last day were able to get you to Port Perry and back home to Toronto safely and efficiently.

The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Decor is somewat dated, but again, was clean and the furnishings comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The room was very quiet and the location convenient. Would definitely stay again.

A very very old motel. We drove into the parking lot to check in, took a look outside at the units, and drove right out and sent a cancellation to them. We forfeited our payment. Certainly not the Howard Johnson we are used to. We would suggest the Ramada in Lindsay instead as we stayed there before.

It's not bad. It's what you would expect for a roadside motel. It's in a quiet area and I was able to sleep indoors on a clean bed. Exactly what I expected. The C$100 PER NIGHT damage deposit demanded of me was a surprise considering the room was pre-paid. The wi-fi was spotty. Otherwise, I have no complaints.

This motel was not only in bad shape but also super dirty. The room and towels smelled bad, like wet dog mixed with cigarettes. There was hair in the bathroom obviously from the previous guest. The staff were super nice.

We reserved a room for 6 people. We were placed in a room with 2 double beds and were told that this was a mistake in Expedia [Though I did not have to tell them that it was Expedia, so the property is clearly aware of the misinformation]. They informed us that they had no rooms that could accommodate 6 people. They did provide a cot, which worked for us, but not a small error. The room itself was clean, but not well stocked and in disrepair. The water smelled of sulphur/iron and tasted strongly of iron. The strong smell made showering unpleasant. There were limited towels, the door to the bathroom did not close, no garbage can was available in the bathroom, there were limited number of power outlets. Though there was a kitchenette, no cups, plates, or utensils were present. There was no coffee machine in the room and the free coffee provided by the hotel in the morning was served in the tiniest little coffee cups. The stove, microwave and fridge did work and the beds were acceptable. Staff were very courteous and kind and were the only redeeming factor.
