The accommodation opens onto a living room furnished with a double sofa bed, television, dining table and open kitchen equipped with microwave, kettle and toaster. This is followed by the sleeping area, consisting of a room with a queen-size bed, large closet and access to the balcony. Finally, a bathroom with shower stall and bidet completes the layout of the apartment. Amenities such as air conditioning, heating and free Wi-Fi are available to guests. \*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. Among these treasures stands Varenna, one of the most popular tourist destinations of Lake Como thanks to its wealth of history, art and culture. Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi are among the most famous points of interest in the village, with their gardens, their beautiful landscapes and original furnishings. Varenna is the ideal place for a walk along the lake, its old town is famous for its peculiar alleys and the Walk of the Lovers, which connects the pier with the village. On the promontory overlooking Varenna you can also visit the Castle of Vezio, dating back to the second century BC, from to admire a 360 degree view. Nature is the frame of this territory and through paths and walks, such as the Greenway of the Patriarchs and the Wayfarer’s Pat, you can immerse yourself in the discovery of views and landscapes rich in history. Connected to Menaggio and Bellagio by ferry service, it is also easily accessible from Switzerland, thanks to its central location on the eastern branch of Lake Como. AVOID THIS COMPANY — Zero Accountability and Completely Unprofessional I booked 2 nights at “Varenna Balcony” in Lake Como, Italy and had one of the most stressful check-in experiences ever. Check-in was stated as from 3:00pm, yet despite multiple attempts to contact the host for the access code, they did not provide it until 4:23pm. I was left waiting outside with two large suitcases, anxious, tired, and unable to start my plans for the afternoon. This delay completely ruined the mood for my holiday. Even worse, when I explained the situation to them, they offered no apology, no acknowledgment of the delay, and insisted they “had sent the code” — despite the clear timestamp showing otherwise. I contacted Expedia (the platform I booked through) seeking some form of compensation for the inconvenience. They redirected me to the host, who never responded. No resolution. No accountability. Nothing. As for the accommodation itself: Location: Excellent and central. Space: Good size for a solo traveller. Cleanliness: Terrible smell in the living room and kitchen — an unpleasant, stale urine-like odour that made it uncomfortable to even step inside those areas. I had to hold my breath every time I walked through. Overall, the lack of professionalism, the check-in delay, and the refusal to take responsibility make this a place I cannot recommend under any circumstances. ##### Kiu Yu Séjour de 2 nuits en octobre 2025
