The owners have thought of everything you need: dry racks for bathing suits, hooks in every room, fully stocked kitchen, beautiful products (soaps in kitchen and bathroom), extra blankets, luggage racks, and more. This place is more than pet friendly: it was pet welcoming too. They even had special dishes, blanket and bed for my pup. The space is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, with laundry very conveniently located just outside the suite. (They even had laundry baskets for guests to use!) The hot tub in the yard was very clean. The yard very well kept and so nice to have outdoor space to use: my best was an afternoon nap in the hammock. Even more, the location was fantastic for us: easy walk to the lake and restaurants and the Saturday market. Located right on the path, for a perfect walk or bike riding option. Aug 30, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location Disliked: Listing accuracy The unit itself is lovely. Well appointed with lots of thoughtful little extras. The hosts are very communicative and everything is well explained. I would however not book again. All of the outdoor amenities including the yard space and hot tub are shared with what I assume to be other guests or hosts staying in other apartments. Nothing about the listing is inaccurate but it should be expressly stated that these are shared. The hot tub is basically open to a busy a street/walking path without any privacy. In general the place lacks privacy. For the price I was expecting to have exclusive use of the yard area and hot tub. It’s weird when another apartment with guests in it is looking at you through there windows when you want to use the hot tub. There is a dog that wanders the hallway between units and barks incessantly throughout the day. It’s a weird feeling, if I had clearly understood what I was getting I would be less upset about the experience, but I can’t help feel that Desert Shores is a bit of a bait and switch. ##### James J.
