Our condo (limited to 2) is located at Sunset Harbor Palms with its own private stretch of beach for guests, lush green lawn, spacious covered picnic area with grills, and a pool. There are miles and miles of white sand beaches along the Gulf Islands National Seashore! Just pick your private spot! Our beautifully decorated condo is small, cozy and perfect for couples! You can step off the elevator and be on the beach in 30 footsteps! Sunset Harbor Palms condominiums are situated perfectly on Navarre Beach. The grounds are very well groomed and maintained. Our condo is located near the end of Navarre Beach, tucked away on the sound and away from the noise and traffic. Here you can enjoy the peace and calm as you sit in the lush green lawn to watch the evening sunset. GREAT RESTAURANTS There are several nice restaurants nearby. On the island, Beach House Bar and Grill is found at the Marriott. They have a beautiful outside seating area overlooking the gulf side beach. They have a very nice breakfast. Also, Sailors Grill is good for breakfast (by the Navarre Beach boat launch). They have freshly made pastries, breads. Broussard's Cajun Restaurant, Loggerheads, and Juana's is also on the island. There is a convenience store with gas and groceries on the island as well. On Rt. 98, other restaurants such as Dewey Destins, JJ Chagos, East River Smokehouse (barbecue), TCs Front Porch, East Bay Crab House. Beach House Grill & Bar, and Dave's Oyster House are good places to eat. Stripes is a good restaurant (veteran owned and located in the parking lot where Publix is). Walmart Super Center, Walmart Grocery (delivers groceries), Publix, and Winn Dixie are also grocery options in Navarre. Great coffee or favorite latte places are Deb's (drive through) and Caffeinated. Other great restaurants such as Flounders, Grand Marlin, Peg Leg Pete’s, and other dining options may be found at Pensacola Beach. Just follow Rt. 399 West along the Gulf Islands National Seashore, a spectacular drive along the white sandy beaches and emerald waters. BRING YOUR BOAT/KAYAK - You can also bring your kayak to paddle around in the sound. Rentals are available on the island. BICYCLE - Bring along your bicycle to explore around the beach. Biking is also great if you choose to ride along the entire Gulf Island National Seashore (absolutely breathtaking views). It is a 7-mile bike ride in a safe lane that allows you to breathe in all the sights, sounds, and magnificence of the sea! You can also ride all the way on the bike trail to Pensacola Beach! Rentals are available on the island. THE PIER AT SUNSET HARBOR PALMS -Our beautiful onsite pier has been completely rebuilt and is spectacular! Be sure to bring along your gear and fish right from the dock, provided exclusively for guests of Sunset Harbor. Fish of many varieties are found here including redfish, speckled trout, and mackerel. NAVARRE BEACH PIER - Want that bigger fish? Go to the Navarre Beach Pier where from sunrise to sunset you can fish all day! Great catches may be pompano, flounder, blackfin tuna, cobia, tarpon, king and Spanish mackerel. The pier is 1534 feet long and 30 feet above the water. Rent a fishing pole at the bait and tackle shop or just enjoy the stroll along the pier or the breeze at the pier restaurant. DEEP SEA EXCURSIONS - For the ultimate fishing experience, schedule an all-day deep sea fishing charter in nearby Destin or Pensacola, complete with a captain who knows all the right fishing spots! CASINOS - Good Time Tours (a charter bus company) conducts daily trips to Biloxi, MS area casinos with departures daily from Navarre Beach. Buses pick you up early at Winn Dixie (just across Navarre Beach causeway bridge) each day Sunday through Saturday and return later in evening. SEA TURTLE CONSERVANCY - We love our sea turtles at Navarre Beach! Kids and adults alike may want to checkout the nearby Sea Turtle Conservancy to learn about these remarkable creatures and meet Sweet Pea, a juvenile green turtle who was found wrapped in fishing gear both inside and out and badly injured. Sweet Pea has since settled into her new home and is rehabilitating from the trauma causing her to lose a front flipper. You may notice the low mounted lights along the beach. Most lighting has been converted to have sea turtle friendly fixtures and low light bulbs. That is because nesting season mostly occurs at night and when hatchlings emerge, they can scurry down the beach to the sea without being disoriented by bright lights. SANTA ROSA SOUND - On our magnificent Santa Rosa sound you can paddle board, kayak, boat, jet ski, fish, and wind surf! (rentals available nearby). The sound is especially nice if you want to simply wade or allow small children to play in the water without large waves. Find your favorite spot along the long, pristine stretch of beaches on both sides of the Gulf Shore National Seashore. HISTORIC FORTS - Along the Gulf Islands National Seashore there are unique places to visit and explore! Aside from the miles of white beaches you will find three historic fortifications spanning centuries of sea coastal defensive systems at Fort Barrancas. Hike along the historic routes used by soldiers while stationed at the forts. Historic Fort Pickens, one of the largest brick forts built in the United States, provided the setting for a serious effort by a small group of men to avert or at least postpone the outbreak of the Civil War. The Naval Live Oaks Area includes 7.5 miles of hiking trails and the fully accessible 0.8 mile Brackenridge Nature Trail directly behind park headquarters. PENSACOLA BEACH - Take a drive to Pensacola Beach for other great restaurants! Many to choose from on the water front and try one of the local favorite drinks, the Bushwacker. A personal favorite restaurant is The Oar House. Also, the Crab House, Casino Beach Grill, SandShakers, Flounders, and many more! Explore historic Seville Square with morning brunches and great jazz! This historic section of Pensacola is filled with great night life and beautiful historic structures. BLUE ANGELS! - Be sure to visit the nearby Naval Air Station and you may be lucky enough to see the Blue Angels on a practice run! The Blue Angels do their spectacular final air show in Pensacola on Veterans Day, November 11\. There are other air shows throughout the year. The US Air Force has 2 bases in the area: Hurlburt Field and Eglin. You may spot an occasional Osprey CV-22 or military helicopter on training flight. NATIONAL NAVAL AVIATION MUSEUM - Take an amazing day trip to The National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida. See more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation. These historic and one-of-a-kind aircraft are displayed both inside the Museum’s over 350,000 square feet of exhibit space and outside on its 37-acre grounds. Fly in one of their full motion simulators or see The Magic of Flight, their own Laser Powered Giant Screen Digital Theater film projected on a seven-story high screen and feel like you’ve had a bona fide ride with the Blue Angels. We drove to the beach and it was about 1 min. You could walk. The beach is beautiful very very beautiful.Our Host was very easy and available to talk with. Nice relaxed atmosphere. I was worried it would be too small because of the description. It was actually roomier than I anticipated. I loved that we were directly on the bay and could also walk to the beach (although it was too hot for that this time!) All you need to pack are your personal toiletries, clothes, and what food you want to take with you! When the listing states there are towels, washcloths, etc. there are plenty for your use. Clean and well maintained. I thoroughly enjoyed the bay as I could lay out on my float in the water and not get washed away from the waves! Carla has a beautiful place right on the water and we loved it. We fished like crazy and this was perfect. From the spotless apartment we stayed in to the fishing dock. We caught amazing fish, including a shark!! Great people to chat with from all over and away from the hustle and bustle. The main beach is just 2 blocks away and the Sound was our side. Everything you need is within 10-15 minutes by car. We can’t wait to come back next year. Die Vorleger bei Küche und Bad sollten mal erneuert werden oder gereinigt. Die Wohnung ist sonst sauber, dass Bad ist neu gemacht und der Boden laut Mail. Der Ausblick ist schön und das Wasser/die Wellen schön zu hören. Das Bett ist gut, aber für Menschen die mehr auf den Rippen haben nicht zu empfehlen, da es nur maximal 140 breit ist. Wir sind normal mit etwas Sport von der Statur und es war echt geradeso verträglich.
