This hotel is over priced! You pay a resort fee for nothing because there is nothing to actually do on the resort. The staff were nonchalant and I feel like at the rate paid they could be a bit more welcoming. They literally checked me in and didn’t give me any info on the resort (but that may be because there was no info to give because there is NOTHING to do!)

We loved all the on-site activities and entertainment. The employees were awesome and the room spotless! You must try their pizza and it was very reasonably priced. The property was gorgeous and so clean! Definitely will be back! AMAZING!!

Me gustó: La propiedad tiene buena posición, una vista hermosa a la playa y una gran piscina, el equipo es agradable y todos serviciales, atentas al cambio de las toallas y lo que necesitaba en la habitación. No me gustó la limpieza ni la calidad de las habitaciones, para el precio por noche que pague no está a la altura de la calidad de la habitación, el aire no trabaja correctamente pasé calor, y la llave del lavamanos goteaba, el baño tenía partes q se vea la mala limpieza y mojo, al igual que el piso de la habitación.

The fact I emailed the same day I got there at checkin because the pictures are very misleading I booked at this property to have room to get my child ready for a cheer competition in the bathroom I couldn’t even get two feet in the bathroom it was so small, then I woke up the next morning and the hot water didn’t work they ended up calling and asking us to move and they were going to upgrade my room to ocean view so I’m dealing with my kids I get my husband to go get the new room not thinking I have to provide him all the details get the new keys and they put is not in the ocean view room so I call back after moving twice and they finally got it right but after that it was fine no problems

Our TV's, microwave and toilet were not working. The hotel is very dated for the price we should have had better. Room services never answered. Bar staff rude. On their phones.

I booked a 'gulf front' room only to be placed in a room that looks directly at a putt putt course. The room is very outdated, had toothpaste on the mirror from the last guest and the lock got stuck leaving my daughter trapped on the balcony. We had to call maintence to get the lock unstuck. Very dissatisfied with this room and will not be back. Please make this right so I can edit the review.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Island. It is a great family friendly resort. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Resort is a great location too. Just a short drive to Destin. Great food and beautiful beaches. We couldn’t ask for more on our vacation. Will stay again!

The location was great, love the beach. The grounds were nice. However, parking in the garage with no elevator to the ground floor for luggage transport was not great.

I love going back year after year. The staff, all staff are absolutely amazing, it is great to see them year after year. I would highly recommend this to anyone, family family. The sunsets/rise are gorgeous and the beach is very clecan.

We enjoyed the convenience of the restaurant and bars. It was pretty cold while we were there and the heated pool and hot tub felt great. The building we were put in had construction going and it was so loud it shook the room. We were disappointed that we would be put in a room that was so close to the construction. After bringing up our concerns we were taken care of immediately and with multiple options to rectify our situation. We appreciated that so much and helped make our experience 5 stars. We were there with two kids 4 and 6 years old, they approved of the pool, hot tub and beach. The big pool was too cold to go in but it didn’t matter. The breakfast buffet was good and changed their selection from day to day. The rooms we stayed in had a fridge and a keurig which was so appreciated. Bathrooms were clean and shower had lots of hot water. Room service came everyday and the staff was all kind.

Clean facility and friendly staff. But outdated facility and the landscaping was in need of work. Noisy above our room and on all sides. People outside rooms smoking and your room smells like cigarettes. Pretty pricey for what you get.

In general, we like the property. I was surprised by the fact that you charge for parking. No where in any communication did I see that we would have to pay for parking. That is a rip-off. PERIOD! The only issue we had with the property was that the new flooring in the units is wonderful but it allows sound to travel. So, any rooms linked by pass-thru doors between rooms creates an open space for any talking in the unit next to your room will pass right through the double doors and into your room. So, if your adjacent room occupant wakes up early and turns on the TV or starts talking, or has their kids up early, it totally comes through that double door system. In the past, the carpet absorbed that sound. Now you must add something between or under those doors to muffle or stop the sounds coming from adjacent rooms. We were okay with the construction noise but the adjacent room noise would be a reason for us to never come again to this facility. You want repeat customers. Find a solution.

The property has a lot of things on site pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar and beach access. The only things I did not like is the rooms that have connected rooms you can hear everything next door, the drinks are $14 and very small and not good. Everything is overpriced for no reason.

The property was under construction which was not noted in the booking and that was extremely loud during the day and you could hear the guests in the next room and in the hallway loud and clear. We were in a first floor double with a patio to the pool. When making a comment that they would generate more revenue if the other pool was full, I was told by an employee that the swim out pool cannot be heated due to the constant churn from the water fall and it is freezing all year round. This is the pool that the swim up bar is located in the middle of. The water was SO COLD you could not swim in it-so waste of money on that upgrade. The heated pool on the property was packed with kids throwing balls, diving underneath you, jumping into the pool from the deck and there were very young (under 4) kids in the hot tub. The location is great, the drinks are cold, the beach is white sugar sand and clean.

The Island Resort is right on the beach. The beach was pristine, all well kept. The staff was always friendly, welcoming, with a bright smile. The dining area and bar were busy and great for late night card playing and interaction with other guests. We had an issue with the heat not working. We informed the front desk, went to dinner, and the issue was fixed when we got back. Absolutely outstanding.

We stayed a total of 3 nights; 2 together and 1 on our return before leaving to the airport at 5am. Overall, we wouldn't recommend staying here. The rooms are moldy and outdated. Night we went down to the bar area in the lobby and the person working the bar wouldn't come out from behind the bar and serve us. If we wanted something we had to go to the bar and get it - basically serve our selves. On the return day (3rd day of our 3 day stay), that changed and she got a good tip. Check in was quick and easy - food wasn't anything I liked, except the waffle at breakfast - that was amazing! Was an easy walk to the beach. But overall would not recommend.

Property wasn’t everything we thought it would be. This place gets very busy on the weekends and during the off season they don’t have everything they promote! The large pool isn’t heated. Everyone was very nice! Chairs by the beach have to be rented and there is only a few walking distance restaurants

Was here in early March. Some construction going on. Not a bother to us at all. Staff friendly, you can stay at hotel or drive short distance and find what you need. Will be back.
