We arrived later in the evening and while Debra was entertaining, clearly a well meaning person and hard worker—I didn’t love the check in process. She was loudly announcing my identification was just an ID and making jokes about it clearly stating it’s not a drivers license. What Debra didn’t know is that I have a medical condition and cannot drive. This is a sore subject for me so her loud silliness and comments were pretty humiliating. It was really just a really uncomfortable experience. She didn’t know, and I didn’t say, but this isn’t something that should be commented on. It was very embarrassing.
The room had a foul smell, lightly sewage like, when we entered, I wanted to complain but I really didn’t want to interact with Debra again. Like I said, she IS clearly a nice person, but her joking nature was just too uncomfortable, I wasn’t bouncing back quickly as much as I tried to seem unbothered. We later interacted with her in the pool and she kindly blew up a ball for our kids. She then proceeded to test the pool chemicals while we were in it and then while my husband was alone in the hot tub. It was weird and unsettling. I think perhaps she’s got some issues with boundaries…
Breakfast was awful. There was expired yogurt, the morning desk clerk was super apologetic and remedied that, but the biscuits were hard and the gravy was awful and tasteless, the eggs awful, the sausage, too. The lemonade tasted rancid. There’s a lot of potential but they’re missing the mark.
