CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: Check-in time is 4:00 p.m./check-out time is 11:00 a.m. The home has an entry gate and a lock box; we send you the codes approximately three days prior to your arrival.
Early Check-In: Many people request early check-in. We'll accommodate early check-in whenever we can. However, if someone is leaving the same day, it takes the cleaning crew the entire time between bookings to clean, do laundry, etc.
The non-refundable Early Check-In fee is $25.00 per hour. Just send a message through Vrbo, and if we're able to accommodate, we'll add the Early Check-In fee to your reservation.
2 OUTDOOR FIRE PITs: 1 in woods and 1 on side patio. FREE firewood is provided.

Numerous Hiking Trails:
Quick Hikes within a mile of the home, we have Shoemaker Nature Preserve. Five miles from our home is Chalet Nivale, Shaded hollows, vertical cliffs, rare plants, carved out by two of Ohio's cleanest streams. Both are easier excellent hikes. Fort Hill is a hike through a mature forest to the top of the ridge where a 2000 yr old mystery of the Hopewell culture awaits. Hike more intense Buzzard's Roost, or check out the Arc of Appalachia's site for more challenging hikes. And for the easiest of all, and maybe the best...Enter the Forest at the bottom of our drive. It is flat for 1 mile, and you rarely see anyone, just deer and turkey.
Recreation/Swimming:
Long's Retreat - fun for the whole family - swimming, canoe/kayak rentals, putt-putt, water slides, arcade room and much, much more!
Mineral Springs Lake - only 8 miles away. Swimming and lots of family fun!! We've personally seen their fresh water jellyfish - pretty awesome!
Shawnee State Park - canoe rental and fishing. Approximately 20 miles away.

The property had a great basement and bathroom where the kids and grandparents played and slept and the loft room and main floor bath and bedrooms were great for other two couples. way out in the wilderness and beautiful… fire pits nice for fires each night and fire pies and smores…. some went to mineral springs and serpent mound and ….chalet Nivale which the kids loved! The house had paper towel, toilet paper, trash bags, and all kind of spices to use and ice cube trays filled. There are butterfly bushes right by the porch… tons of beautiful butterfly’s. We really enjoyed our weekend

Stayed while in town with our grown children while putting together my mother's memorial services. The house is very large, very private. Clean, well equipped and has many gathering spaces inside and out. It's a lovely property.The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook or bake.Wasn't super happy about the wifi notice but we managed and would highly recommended this air BB for any occasion. Beautiful property!

Beautiful, peaceful and private. Overall we had a great time. We were a bit disappointed by the Wi-Fi rules as they were not specified in the listing and the extensive DVD collection turned out to be less than 20 and most were from the 60’s and 70’s. Other than that we had a great time. Lots of fires and s’mores and reconnecting with family.

This is a beautiful home and property. We enjoyed all of the options - two fire pits, and two porches. Everyone in our group was able to find a place to be comfortable. The house was clean and the owners where very responsive. The kitchen was very well stocked with larger pans, and enough plates and glasses for everyone. We enjoyed hiking in the state parks in this area and even went to the Pumpkin Festival in Circleville. It was a very relaxing, and quiet place to reconnect.

We traveled as a group of 10 from ages 4- 60+. Property was clean and lovely. Everything was as listed. Owner was wonderful! Extremely prompt response time for our questions. Location was perfect. Lots of space outdoors for kiddos to explore. It rained the entire weekend, but we were quite comfortable inside and on the cozy porches .Would definitely recommend this property to anyone, especially families!

When we arrived we had no cell service and were unable to check our phone for the codes to get on the property. After traveling to somewhere where we could get cell service(probably didn't need to go as far as we did, but it was dark and we weren't familiar with the area)we tried contacting the owners with no luck. We were however able to check the VRBO site and find where the owner's reply to my message from earlier in the day and were able to get in and enjoy our weekend. It would have helped if we were more prepared before arriving. After arriving the only complaint was the wifi restrictions and list of fines on the refrigerator that we would have liked to known beforehand. However we weren't planning on wrecking the place, so aside from the initial shock it had no effect on our stay. Nice place, but be prepared for poor cell service.

#### The Sanctuary
We appreciated our stay at The Sanctuary. The host was very on point with response times and providing "key" information. Easy check-in process. Host was very helpful with accommodation needs, providing good space for our family. Very nice kitchen, well-equipped and functional. Very clean with comfortable beds. Free Wi-Fi available, limitations on use, definitely a place to "unplug". Family certainly enjoyed their stay at The Sanctuary.

We really enjoyed ourselves. Turn off the electronics and appreciate mother nature! Comfy beds and anything else you might need for a relaxing getaway.
