NOT RECOMMENDED. One of the worst resorts I’ve stayed at. You can get so much more for your money at other resorts nearby. The location was in the middle of no where and if you want to go into town, you have to take a grab or bolt. There is a hotel shuttle but it’s only at 2pm and 6pm. The “beach” is a dirty short strip of beach. You could walk the entire length in less than 3 mins. The hotel overall is old and cobwebs every corner. The staff are not helpful at all. Several times I had to struggle set up the beach umbrella myself while 5 staff members watched me from the bar. The second night at around 11pm, while my senior parents were asleep - they woke to a banging on their room door with someone yelling “open the door” several times. Once opened, a hotel staff started yelling at my parents saying they are in the wrong room. After a few minutes my father checked the room number they were looking for and THEY were on the wrong floor!! After complaining to the front desk, nothing was done. NEVER staying here again and would NOT recommend this resort to anyone.

Not 5 star hotel, not as my expectation.
Not as expected for 5 star hotel. It was clean but not like 5 star. It is old they need to take care of the rooms give a color take care of the wood. My girlfriend used hair condition and she said it was horrible. I saw the rating is low, I saw people complaining about service, for me service was okay. Main thing was the room that I didn’t like at all the room I booked looked like it has garden view but the picture is misleading they have garden stickers on the windows and a railing inside the room and no balcony. And when I open the window I see pole for electric wires. So right away I went to lobby and upgraded both my rooms 600 baht per room. Pullman was same price if plus 600 next time I stay there. The Seaview room (upgraded room) was nice but still the condition of the room not satisfying for a 5 star hotel also the conditioner was horrible. But the view for the new room was nice and the facilities are okay and they have a private beach too. Mainly I would say my problem was the room that was not maintained well enough. And the garden view that is not garden view.

An excellent choice
Although I was here on my own this hotel appears excellent for families, with children happily building sandcastles on the small sandy beach. I appreciated the choice of sunbathing by the sea or by the pool. I was happy to be outside of the main Pattaya centre and liked being in a family-friendly resort. There are lots of nice touches - from the free drink when you arrive to the cookies provided in the room. The level of service is high and I would happily come here again!

What a beautifully designed hotel!!! So many details in the architecture capture the quality of this hotel. Our sea facing room was luxurious and felt like a London exclusive dwelling.The hotel is right on the beach. Good food. Really nice service.

Christmas paradise
We loved our stay! We stayed Christmas Eve and day, everything was amazing. They had a wonderful Christmas dinner, the rooms were clean, room service was great, the massage service was exceptional. The only thing I have to say is they advertised A “Spa” but they only had massage service by the pool. Either way, they still had a ton of amenities. Buffet breakfast was top knotch, the gym was pretty good. It was out of the way, but it’s Pattaya. Also it was on a private beach which is what we wanted, we didn’t care about going out.

Great hotel & pool but meh location
The beach at the resort was a bit less scenic than we hoped because of the roped off area for swimming, you also cannot walk along the beach very far due to rocks. The actual hotel was great, especially infinity pool (& pool bar) overlooking the beach. Shuttle to a few parts of the city but not exactly where we wanted/needed to go. Location was quiet but made getting around difficult.

Nice and quiet beach front hotel
Overall a nice place to stay for guests who look for beachfront, quiet and yet with modern facilities. The room is spacious 41 sq.m. with two queen size beds, very comfortable to sleep in.

Definitely not 5 stars and not worth the money
This hotel is definitely not 5 star. It has obviously not been cared for properly since the photos were taken and I would not recommend it. Check in was rushed and nothing was explained properly so I had to seek out answers throughout my stay. The staff were adequate but when I asked questions (like where is breakfast held) it was as if I was a bother. The facilities left a lot to be desired, the door to my room didn't open properly unless you gave it a serious shove and the bathroom flooded because the shower drain was partially blocked. I couldn't have a bath either because it was not clean and the sink drain was broken. The pools are not blue, the bottom has gone a weird brown and while it is purely cosmetic it is not inviting. The location is great if you want to be away from the craziness of Pattaya and the private beach is nice, but for a "5 star" hotel to not run a shuttle bus to the main area is ridiculous. They do offer a shuttle every 2 hours only to the main road from where they tell you to get a local bus into town. They will call you a taxi (or ute) that costs 250-300thb to get into town.

OUT OF THE WAY LOCATION
The hotel is located way out ..which has both pluses and minuses. Pluses include a quieter beachfront and some awesome sea views. But it is located far away from the downtown hub of Pattaya. Wish they had a half hourly or at least an hourly bus-service to the main road (even if it is request-based) instead of the current once in 2 hours. Would go a long away in improving accessibility. Breakfast spread is decent, but their hall cant accomodate all the guests esp on a weekend and it means a long trudge from your seat to the buffet esp if u cant find space in the main hall. hope they find a more elegant solution to this. Vegetarian options are highly ltd, and the lack of easy commute to downtown is a BIG negative, I would advice Indian vegetarian fellow travellers to either travel with ready-to-eats if u want a peaceful beach in Pattaya itself or give this hotel a miss. It must be said however that the hotel staff did try their level best to try and give us a vegetarian meal of pizzas, pasta and Phad Thai. Appreciate their efforts. Must add that We had a great time on the beachfront and the pool.

Check in staff not so much English and quite rude. Front desk not much assistance when trying to order a surprise cake or room service breakfast to surprise my partner. Pools are dirty. Rooms are not soundproof. The saving grace was Twilight bar and restaurant. Staff are amazing up there

Where is my security??
Room is not ready fior check in so the hotel upgrade a new room at about 15-20 min. But the unexpected for 5 stars is these, at the next day at around 9 am someone (propably room service or maid) just come into my room towards my bed. Sorry, she said and left the room. I reported this to frontdesk and I got only” very sorry” I did too, I’m sorry that I choose this hotel

Retro Style Beachfront Hotel
We (3 family with 6 adults and 6 kids) have a 3 days 2 nights stay here. We make the booking via Booking.com and the check in progress is rather slow (about 30 min), perhaps it is due to their system. I have given my booking details to the desk staff not less than 2 times. The design of the hotel is great. I love the old school retro design. We have a pool view + beach view room. Superb. No complain. Balcony is spacious. Majority of the staffs are friendly and polite. The warm water system of the long bath is complicated. Notes : a) The beach is clean but it isn't long enough. The sand isn't fine enough. b) You need a transport to travel to Pattaya Town.

Bad staff and worst superior room
This hotel is definitely not a 5 star and hard to believe that it's really Novotel. The superior room given was terrible. The water from the tap was very weak and there was not enough water to flush the toilet. After complaining we were moved to another superior room with Ok water flow but there was a smell from the toilet. In the morning when I used the toilet for number 2 for the first time, there was obstruction. I called both room service and front desk more than 4 times but there was no one came to fix it. At the end we needed to use the toilet at the lobby. There was water leaking from the air conditioner both in the bathroom and in front of the room door. The room floor was always soaked with water which made me nearly fall down when I woke up! Upon checking out we did raise the issues again but the only thing I got was an apology! I asked to talk to the front desk manager and they asked me to talk to an assist manager. She took down the note and told me that they would address the issue accordingly to the management team and contact me on the following day and I also left my name. It's now been about a week and there has been no one contact me at all. The beach was dirty and the swimming pool was very small which was always super crowded where you could hardly swim. The breakfast does not have much variety with very so so quality. The superior room is the worst I have ever seen with no window nor ventilation. We will definitely never come back here again.

Hotel nightmare...poor and durty
Booking 2 night stay 1 breakfast..poor nothing..room air cond.noisy..no managment..bbq fish buffet..no fish..880b..the staff not care the customer..shower..mud..carpet bedroom..sand nail hair..under bed..orrible...i tell somebody responsable fb..him the say only sorry..the manager come back monday...so???? The sale this hotel 5*... maybe is 3..expensive and very fare to central..300b for a car..not regular taxy..call from the hotel..like a mafia...my opinion...? Need very urgent a new manager.

Nice hotel with private beach & friendly staffs
We arrived early and the front desk host offer us an early check in. The room is ready soon after we wander down to the beach, pools and restaurant for a quick look and a few photos. The breakfast is nice. Though the beach is reachable by adjacent properties, the hotel has private lounging area with security guard. The hotel has free shuttle to the closest main road every 2 hours. If missed, it's a 20-30 mins walk.

very nice hotel but not so good service.
the hotel and Resort were very clean and nice. the staff were not so nice. Lady at front desk very rude when trying to ask simple questions. The other lady couldn't speak a lick of English. location is very far from everything except the sanctuary of truth.

Hotel has recently been taken over by Novotel but according to staff the new management has not made much of an appearance, leaving the staff floundering. In it's current state and level of service, I would say this hotel is 3 stars. If managed properly, it has the potential for 4 stars. A few areas for improvement: - beach in front of the hotel needs to be cleaned up a bit. - beachfront restaurant needs professionalizing, e.g. wrong order after clarifying twice, not all food available (e.g. bananas!!), no napkins on table. - room was for three but only towels for two with one miniature shower gel and shampoo between us for two days. No attention to detail which you would expect from a 4 star. - staff need training. Although staff were friendly and doing their best, there was a lack of professionalism - both at reception and restaurant. The best thing about this hotel was the swimming pools - great for kids.

Great getaway on private beach
This resort is tucked away so that you can escape the town or Pattaya completely. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel was really interesting and outside of the box. The rooftop restaurant was very beautiful. The beach was clean and the facilities plentiful. Our ocean side room was great and the large balcony was fantastic. Breakfast buffet was a bit pricy in my opinion and there were no other breakfast options but that would be my only negative point. Would recommend Modus Pattaya and stay there myself again.

Good location
This hotel was recommended by friends, it was great for us and the service was friendly. However, there was a problem with the toilet in 1 room our rooms which could not be flushed during the night. We had been calling Front Desk all night due to this could not be fixed and they were unable to accommodate other room as claimed that all room were fully booked. We barely slept that night due to every time we need to use the toilet, it did not work properly also we had a kid sleeping in the room and he was wake every time the mechanic came in. After making many calls, we were provided the key card of the room on the upper floor around 11 am of the next day (Staff told us upon check-out that the guest had checked-out 11 pm but there was no maid during the night). Front Desk called us asking for check-out around 12:00 something, but how could we check-out on time since the bathroom still have the issue?? Upon check-out, we asked them on what they could do for us since we were unable use the toilet in the guestroom we booked and they could only apologised and offerred complimentary drinks at pool bar we had on the first day at THB 532. I really believe that the hotel staff could provide us the happier solutions if they're well trained.

Grand!
We really enjoyed our stay here at Centara Grand Modus. We are a family of 4. We came for just 3 nights. The staff were very hospitable and friendly towards the children. The hotel itself is very clean and spacious. We had booked a superior room, which proved more than adequate for our family. When we arrived though, one of the staffed to up sell - offering us a sea view room as she thought it would be better for us. But as it was not a complimentary upgrade, we kept our room which we were satisfied with. The hotel has a shabby chic feel about it, which we really liked. The breakfast buffet was excellent. There was a great selection of foods to choose from, and freshly made juices! There was plenty of entertainment for the children for those few days - an entertainment room with game machines,a Kids club which had a ball pool, kids play kitchen, arts and crafts. The 3 swimming pools were excellent!The only thing I would suggest is that the hotel should put some red tape or something on the steps inside the pool as they were unclear to distinguish from the pool itself and we did bump ourselves a few times. Overall,it was a very comfortable stay. If we were to go back again, I would be happy to stay again.

Cool steampunk Victorian pastiche designed hotel
It's all about the design really. In a narrow space, they've built an impressive place that keeps you looking up, down and around to catch all of the design elements. If you like design and hate cookie-cutter furnishings, it's well worth a stay. The sea view balconies are worth it - a lovely place to sit and survey the action. The beach is nice for staying close to young kids as they play. You can see Bangkok on the horizon so don't come for the island view. A great long weekend kind of destination.

Terrible service-felt like 2nd class citizens
We wanted a short relaxing getaway to beach after a busy vacation in two other cities inThailand. This hotel made it the most stressful part of my vacation out of all the hotels we stayed in Thailand. The safety box was broken and when I brought it up to front desk, they didn't have a solution. I asked for another way to protect my important documents but nothing was offered until I raised it a 3rd time. Seriously why do I need to repeat myself 3 different times the same story and get 3 different answers. The last staff member offered to keep our stuff in their security safe box or move us to another room. It took 3 times and a day of complaining. On my vacation I'm not staying in my hotel room and waiting for facilities to come fix the safe. This is your problem not mine that should have been take care of!! Then I was given nasty looks by staff for complaining- no one apologized for the inconvenience until the 3rd person I worked with. Also for a resort, why don't the staff speak sufficient English?? I'm sorry but English is a common language spoken by tourist-at least have one person at all times know the language! Even low grade hotels have better manners than this. Seriously the worst hotel service I had and I've been around some great hotels. Very disappointing stay for a resort!!!

Dirty run down hotel beware.
This hotel is not 5 star not even close. The so called superior rooms do not even have windows & our bathroom smelt of stale urine. The pool area is very run down with the children's pool having rusty bars round it covered in frayed foam. The hotel is miles from central Pattaya. Save yourself dissatisfaction & book elsewhere.
