Or just sit by the fire and watch the river go by. Just a 12 minute drive to shops and dining in quaint Cornish. Day trip options are endless: Portland, Sebego Lake, Ogunquit, Lake Winnipesaukee, Portsmouth, the White Mountains, Kennebunkport ... Downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, and brew pub tours will keep you busy during the winter months, when you’ll come home to an easy-to-use wood stove and full kitchen. The cabin is small and cozy, ideal for one or two couples (although we’ve had plenty of guests sleep on the futon.) The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed, while the second bedroom features a bunk bed. River is pretty rocky and isn’t great for swimming, but is perfect if you just want to relax by the water, put your feet in, or fish off the dock. The view of the river from the cabin is awesome. The water heater is amazing, as we never ran out of hot water. Skylights make the place seem even bigger. The river does run quite rapidly, so we didnt try the kayaks. My girlfriend and I decided to have a winter getaway from South Florida for a little bit and we were definitely not disappointed. The attention to detail concerning the interior of the cabin, and cozy atmosphere, to the location in the small, quaint town of Parsonsfield, the cabin to impress anyone staying there. We were even fortunate enough to have 8 inches of powdery snowfall on arrival at which time we went outside and played like children, to include building a snowman. The simplicity of the check-in procedures and detailed instructions for check out, are a testament to Teresa and Dan’s attentiveness toward their guests. We will definitely be back.
