The hotel is very nice. I got a room that has the elevators attached to it so it was not good for me and getting rest.

Yes, it’s a little noisy but close both of the curtains, and if it still bothers you, you can put in some earplugs :-) The sink in my room had a large crack in it, but wasn’t leaking. The bathtub is pretty tight for showering, but it was fine. The junction bar and Grill food is quite good. And I have to make sure to absolutely say that the staff both at the junction bar and Grill and Hotel are fantastic! Super friendly and very accommodating. We felt very welcome. Kudos to the staff and management. It’s my first time to Newark. They have to say generally speaking everyone is very friendly. Went to the Prudential centre for an event and everyone there was very friendly and accommodating as well. Overall a very positive experience I would definitely return. Thanks so much.

I will admit - I was hesitant to book based on some of the negative reviews. However, I am sure glad I took the chance and stayed here. Hotel staff - AMAZING. I was there on a 24hr business trip and I've never been to NYC before. The gals at the front counter helped talk me through all the dining options, which transportation to use, once I get into the city where to go and not to go etc. Location - Super close to the airport (20 minutes with a little traffic). The reason I stayed here is because it's literally right across from Penn Station Newark so I was able to take the train right into town without having to pay crazy uber or cab fees. The downside - since you're right next to the train station there's a lot of foot traffic. Room - Very Clean and comfortable. Unlike some of the other reviews there was plenty of soap, shampoo and conditioner! I will be staying here again when I come back for business.

Positive : Location is very convenient, free transport to airport, lots of dining options nearby. Room is clean and staff friendly. Negative : the connecting door/wall is paper thin. I can hear people next room talking in normal tone, when they raise their voice it is as if they are in the same room as us.

This is still a pretty good alternative to staying in Manhattan, but this hotel is definitely showing its age and hasn't been that well maintained. The staff is pretty marginal, and worst of all, the Doubletree cookies were overdone!

Restaurant at hotel was horrible. I ordered a rare steak and I got a well done steak. McDonald’s in penn station would be better.

The hotel is connected to Newark Penn Station by an indoor walkway but the walkway is closed on weekends. And closed after 8pm on weekdays. Sirens and honking all night.

ran out of Toilet Paper... had to ask for it.. old dispenser was emptied but none replaced... same w/ soap... overpass closed except for one time to trains even in daytime... by 10pm gates for taxi etc at station side locked as well. had to walk around station and deal with DANGEROUS area!!! Why have an overpass if not open for us!!!
