The location of the hotel is excellent. It’s about 5 minutes from the train station and a few minutes from attractions. My room was very comfortable and was spotlessly clean. I would have preferred lighter bed linen, than a quilt, but that is a personal presence. I also would have appreciated a complementary bottle of water given the cost of the hotel. I was disappointed that the bar was not opened as it was advertised as having one. Maybe it is open during the Summer. As a solo traveller, I like the option of having a quite drink at nighttime at a hotel. However, this is a beautiful hotel, I enjoyed my stay and I will consider staying here again when I next visit Parma.

No sleep too much noise from other rooms
A beautiful hotel in a great location however the room walls are paper thin we could hear the next doors room running the taps and flushing the toilet plus it sounded like they was having a shower in our room and I was up twice in the night thinking taps in our room was running. I could also hear what they was watching on the tv and talking about. Such a shame as lovely hotel and staff and if we hadn’t over slept and had to rush for our train due to hardly any sleep which also resulted in us leaving a whole host of our personal items behind I would have raised these issues with them and asked for a refund.

Convenient location to downtown with everything walkable. There is short-term parking for check-in but we ended up parking in a local garage. I would stay here. again if in parma.

This is a centrally located property.Lots of shopping options, we went for some prosciutto and parmesan cheese that was recommended by the hotel and it was great. Located right across the museum. Parking next door was full, we went to Fratti DUC public parking about a 5-10 minute walk. It was 10 euros overnight.

Some improvement needed
The room was large with a very small and tiny shower. The location was exactly what I needed it: close to city center and close to the opera house. Two things did not live up to my expectation: breakfast and wifi. Breakfast was plentiful but lousy scrambled eggs. The wifi was spotty, off and on and did not allow for the connection of my second gsdget, my ipad,

Mercure Parma Centro Stendhal
This is our 2nd say here (previous was 4 years ago). Comfortable, clean, conveniently located, modern and top rate breakfast. Only one rating (comfort) was downgraded since AC was disabled in early October although with the much higher cost of energy due to the Ukrainian-Russia war I understand why they did it. We will stay again when we are back in Parma in the future.

Nice but a little old
In general the hotel is good quality with pleasant staff and a nice breakfast area and shared spaces. Only downside was the room that was not equipped with modern facilities like proper aircon and connectivity/ media equipment. It a little old and lacking investment inside the room.

Overall it was a good stay. Front desk friendly and helpful. Some bits in the hotel and room were falling apart a bit: a corner guard in the hallway, a piece of the shower, etc. Annoying, though, to have to re-log (name, email address, etc.) into the wifi every time you've shut off your computer or phone and, at this point of the pandemic, I don't really see any reason why the hotel bar wouldn't be open. Other than those things, the hotel is well-situated (equidistant from the train station and the center), very clean, and with friendly/helpful staff.

Great location, clean but.....it seems that the HVAC system can only be heat or AC but not both. We were there during the transition period and had neither! The system fan would not work. Room had no air flow ...."open to the door to the patio" was the response.

Perfect hotel in the midst of all Parma offers
Perfect hotel for a two day first-time trip to Parma. Very comfortable hotel easily walkable to everywhere - 10 minute walk to the train station and many excellent restaurants and great shopping. The rooms were comfortable with a great balcony, the staff helpful. Breakfast was good.

Nice hotel in Parma
The Mercure Stendhal is a fantastic location. Close enough to the train station to walk and at the beginning of the city. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The only negative was poor internet connection in the room but we could get it in the lobby. We told the staff about it but our stay ended before they would have been able to fix it.

A good option for a weekend in Parma
The hotel is very conveniently located in the very centre of the city. It is easy to park your car to unload your luggage, but you need to move it for longer parking into a public underground parking 5 minutes away. The check in went great with a friendly and professional staff that answered all questions and tried to meet all needs. The hotel itself is fairly good with the standard rooms a bit small. Superior rooms are in general much better, especially those with a terrace. The general style of the rooms is a bit outdated, but everything was spotless clean. Overall a good option, especially if you upgrade your room and if you like an older flair to your accommodation.
