Big Sand Lake is 1660 acres and one of the most pristine crystal clear lakes in MN. Located 8 miles north of from Park Rapids, only 3.25 hours from the Twin Cities and 1.75 hours from Fargo. Our lake home cabin has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 10 people in beds. The cabin is 100 feet from lake shore and is secluded with privacy. Enjoy a beautiful view of Big Sand Lake with 4 large glass doors facing lakeside from the Living Room, Dining Room, Master Bedroom and 4th Bedroom. There is also a nice large deck to enjoy the lake view and the colorful sunsets each evening. Listen to the ripple of the water and the call of the loon. Decorated in ‘up north’ décor and a complete kitchen with all you need including newer appliances: Kinetico water system, stove, refrigerator, dish washer, microwave, washer and dryer. Equipped with air conditioning in the summer and a gas fireplace along with base board heat for the winter. Level elevation to lake along with 100 feet of grass between deck and lake so plenty room for playing lawn games, sitting in lawn chairs, pitching a tent, and etc. Driveway is blacktop with no gravel to keep your vehicle and boat dust free. Blacktop driveway is perfect for kids to ride their bikes and scooters. 4 Bedroom House with Attached Garage Built in 1991 2,100 square feet on 6.5 acres Master Bedroom = 1 King Bedroom #2 = 1 Queen Bedroom #3 = 1 Queen Bedroom #4 = 1 Queen & 2 Twins Dining Room Table Seats 6 or 8 Kitchen Counter Height Seating with High Back Chairs Seats 4 Picnic Table Seats 8 Cabin was completely furnished with all brand new items in May 2020: custom built bedroom furniture, bedding (sheets, blankets, quilt), towels, beach towels, coffee maker, toaster, griddle, pizzaz rotating pizza oven, dinnerware, glassware, wine glasses, bake ware (cookie sheets, cake pans, 9x9 pan, loaf pan), utensils (spatulas, turners, can opener, pizza cutter, cheese slicer, cork screw, bottle opener), knife block, hand mixer, pots and pans, roasting pan, crockpot, air popcorn popper, mixing bowls, stainless steels bowls, strainer, fish cooker, gas grill, bug fogger, air compressor for blowing up lake toys, lawn chairs, lounge chairs, picnic table, games, dice, puzzles, outdoor games, DVD player and DVD movie library. Washer and Dryer available for your use as well as laundry soap and dryer sheets. Dock is 60 feet long. Boat Lift Available for Use Public Landing is 1.5 miles down the road to launch your boat. Pontoon and boat rental available at www.watertoysrental.com (located 1 mile down the road at Pine Cone Lodge). Lake Toys: Kayak (3 total) - 1 new in 2020, 2 new in 2021 Paddle Boards with Paddles (2) - new in 2020 Lily Pad - new in 2020 Paddleboat (1) More to be added in the future Camp fire ring down by lake. Fire wood provided with cabin rental. Chipmunk picnic table. Bring peanuts to put on the table and watch the chipmunks scurry around. There is cell phone coverage and TV with antenna for local channels and a DVD movie library. Cleaning fee included in cabin rental. Rental Availability All Year Round June thru mid-August = 7 night minimum stay (Saturday to Saturday only) All Other = 3 or 4 night minimum stay Abundant wildlife in the area: loons, eagles, swans, ducks, geese, turtles, hummingbirds, chipmunks, deer, fox and turkeys. All seen at various times on the lake and our driveway. Northern Minnesota is the land of sunsets, northern lights, campfires, relaxation and laughter. Relish the seasons. Our family has vacationed in the Park Rapids/Nevis/Dorset area for many years but this was our first time on Big Sand Lake. The house itself is setup up and decorated so beautifully. The one level living space and no major steps to get to the lake/dock area made it very accessible for both young and old in our party. The lake water was so clear! We enjoyed sunrises, sunsets, kayaking, pontoon rides, and catching some perch and bass right off the dock! Various wildlife including; swans, loons, ducks, eagles, squirrels,various other birds and chipmunks kept us entertained throughout our week stay. The location makes it easy to head off on mini day trips if one wants to venture away, but there are enough water toys, games, puzzles and other things to do right at the lake home if you choose to simply stay at the lake. Jane and Glenn were great hosts. Always quick to reply to any questions or concerns. Check-in and Check-out were both easy! Thank you for sharing your place with our family. I don't know where to start - Diamond Willow Hideaway is absolutely FANTASTIC!! We are SO blessed to find this jewel and the availability we wanted. Property owners pay attention to detail and really care about what they offer to renters. Was wonderful to have a stocked house - from beach towels, towels, pans, silverware, bedding, CDs, games, you name it! LOVED having a yard that was level with the lake - no steep stairs to venture down, and was large! The massive deck was also amazing - loved having 4 sliding doors with access to sitting outside - and you got a GREAT view of the lake! We rented the pontoon which was FANTASTIC! Thank you for that investment! We used the lily pad, games, life jackets, paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boat, grill, firepit (and the s'mores welcome kit) and the drying rack is a brilliant idea! The dock is the nicest one we've ever had - and was great having a boat lift for the boat we brought. Most importantly, it was QUIET and SECLUDED - no neighbors which is exactly what we want when going on a MN vacation. The cabin had plenty of room for our large group, was very clean and well maintained. The property is nice and private and the beach area was nice for our small children to play and swim. The kids loved the lily pad, the older kid and adults loved the paddle boards and kayaks and the 91 year old loved the pontoon. The chipmunk wasn't shy about eating nuts off his table no matter how much commotion was going on around him. On the one rainy afternoon we went to Park Rapids and visited the candy shops and those that stayed back played board games. Great big level yard was used for numerous yard games and just little ones running around. The cabin itself was well stocked and modern. Plenty of wood for campfires and the weather was perfect. It is stocked with yard games, boats, marshmallow roasters...literally everything you could want or need as a guest. (We had more than a few bags that didn’t even get unloaded because they had everything we needed). The beach is perfect for young kids, and the lack itself is gorgeous and crystal clear. Jane (property manager) was communicative and helpful prior to our stay and throughout our trip. We are already looking into available space for next year.
