Location: Paris Arrondissement 3, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe (3rd District - The Marais, next to Place de la République) with INTERNET Accommodations: Apartment, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, 1 WC, Sleeps 1-10 (10 if there are 2 children 4 years younger) Just next to Place de la République, this apartment is located in the historic building of Passage Vendome, one of the most characteristic passages of the old Paris. This 860 sq. ft. (80 m2) apartment is up four flights of stairs. The building is located across two courtyards, so the apartment offers absolute silence and calm. The entrance opens onto a large living room, in which ancient and modern furnishing creates a unique atmosphere. Floor is in marble and there are a fireplace, an antique dining table & six chairs, a pendulum, two antique cupboards, two comfortable design chairs with a little table, and a CD player. The kitchen is spacious, modern, and fully equipped. It is separated from the living area by "colombages", the typical vertical beams that normally constitute the structure of the old building. It features a glass lunching table, two higher baby chairs and two adult chairs. BABYCOOK, toaster, kettle, two Italian "caffettiere", and all of the pots, pans, and utensils you ll need. At the entrance of the apartment (in the cupboard) there is also a washing machine with clothes dryer function. There are three bedrooms, two of which communicating. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the communicating bedroom has a bunk bed (2 adult size places). The third room has a bunk bed. There is the possibility to add a comfortable Kartell mattress and some comfortable double air mattress-bed for 2 adults, if you need. The bathroom features a shower (quite large by Parisian standards) and a comfortable space for changing babies. The gas water heater in the toilet provides unlimited, hot water and allows for adjustable and efficient heating in the winter months. Also: The apartment comes with Wi-Fi Internet access. Fixed telephone calls in Europe, France and overseas departments, Asia and Oceania, Africa and Middle East, America are free of charge, too. More often than not, Canada (often US & Canada) may also be free. LOCATION AND TRANSPORTATION The apartment, in a 17th century building (recently redone), is in a very strategic place. It is in the same block of Passage Vendome which directly leads you to Republic Square. Here you can find a lot of public transportation options, which makes the apartment a very strategic location for a Paris visit: subway lines (3, 5, 8, 9, 11), bus lines (20, 56, 65 , 75, 96), and a taxi station. Located in the center of Paris, you will be at 15 mn of Most interesting spots, Louvre, Saint Germain, Latin Quarter, Saint Louis Islands, Montmartre. More over, the Marais Itself is a very nice, safe neighborhood with plenty of trendy shops and boutiques ranging from fashion to antiques, plus lots of Museums (Pompidou Center, Museum of Art and History of Judaism, Musee Carnevalet etc.). ) and historic spots. The apartment was lovely, spacious, and had a kitchen and laundry. The location was ideal as I traveled primarily via metro. It is a safe, secure building with kind neighbors. I plan to visit Paris again as soon as I am able and I will stay there again for sure! I’ve already recommended it to some friends who are planning a visit. Abends ist hier ein schönes Treiben und Nachtleben. Es ist eine perfekte Lage in einer sicheren Gegend, um Paris zu Fuss zu erkunden. Die Wohnung liegt im 4. Stock in einem Hinterhaus, es war also total ruhig und sehr hell. Wir vermissten einen Schrank für unsere eigene Kleidung, alle Schränke werden ausschliesslich von den Besitzern benützt. Ebenso vermissten wir etwas mehr Geschirr/ Tassen/ Gläsern bei 8 Personen, Bei unserer Ankunft waren nicht alle Betten fertig bereitet und es fehlten Bezüge und Kissen. Insgesamt war die Wohnung nicht sehr sauber, die Dusche und das Badezimmer haben aber einwandfrei funktioniert. The four floor walk up isn’t all that tough so don’t be intimidated by that. Oct 28, 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Echt empfehlenswert, zentral tolle Wohnung, aber die Haustür muss gangbar gemacht werden Wenn man Paris in schönster Weise erleben will , ist diese Wohnung ein großes Stück davon, sie ist wunderschön, geschmacklich und wohnlich eingerichtet, liegt super zentral. Das einzige doch nervige Problem war die Wohnungstür, die sich nur schwer öffnen ließ, jeden Abend eine neue Herausforderung und Bangen, dass wir sie geöffnet kriegen . Sep 18, 2019 Liked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy Disliked: Cleanliness #### Schön und zentral gelegen, aber leider nicht sauber Schöne und großzügige Altbauwohnung, sehr netter Kontakt mit den Vermietern, zentral und ruhig gelegen. Alles wie im Inserat beschrieben und wie auf den Fotos, nur leider: war die Wohnung nicht sauber, als wir ankamen. Nicht einmal die Betten waren frisch bezogen. In jedem Zimmer waren Haare in den Ecken und auf dem Boden. Unter dem Esstisch im Wohnzimmer lag Dreck und Staub von mehreren Wochen. Ich musste erst einmal zwei Stunden putzen, bis es so war, dass wir uns wohlfühlen konnten. Wir hatten sogar Mühe, saubere Putzlappen zu finden. Die Bettwäsche, die wir in einem der Schränke fanden, roch leider muffig. Die Waschmaschine, die wir in einem der Wandschränke entdeckten, roch ebenfalls muffig und war selbst von innen dreckig und ein entsprechend altes Modell, das wir dann gar nicht benutzen wollten. Echt schade!!! Es bräuchte nicht viel, um diese Wohnung aufzuwerten! Eine neue Waschmaschine, neue Kissen und Bettdecken (leider ebenfalls sehr alt und undefinierbar braun-fleckig), und den Schimmel an der Decke im Bad bekämpfen und die Putzfrau vielleicht mal wechseln. So, wie es war, war es eine Zumutung. ##### Judith F. In Wirklichkeit stehen überall Spielsachen im Weg, ein großes Laufställchen befindet sich im Wohnzimmer, jede Menge Staub in den Schlafzimmern, die Bettwäsche und auch die Handtücher sind zwar gewaschen, riechen aber nach Essensgeruch, Die Dusche im Bad hat in alle Fugen Schimmelbildung und das Wc war auch nicht richtig sauber, ebenso sieht im Waschbecken in der Küche aus,das Geschirr kam erst einmal in die Spülmasche!!! Jul 23, 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Nice Apartment in a Great Neighbourhood The Apartment is located next to the Place de la République, so the Metro and a lot of shops and restaurants are around you. In the evening there is a lot of street life. It's a real great location for a stay in Paris, and if you love to walk you can explore Paris by feet. The apartment is located in the 4th floor at an inner courtyard, so it has enough daylight and is totally quiet. We missed an own wardrobe for our clothes - the wardrobes in the apartment are seemingly used by the owner for his own things. Some stuff like e.g. the baking oven and the freezer in the refrigerator were not really clean. Overall we had some very nice days and recommend this apartment. ##### Harald B. Jul 14, 2019 Liked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Good Value The apartment was exactly as described and it was a really good value for metro Paris. The good ... very close to the Republique Metro station which has about 3-4 different trains routes. So it was great for transport. Also Republique circle has a great statue and a bunch of restaurants. Also there is a grocery store about 3 or 4 blocks away. So great location. Also, the owners were very quick to respond to all questions and quite friendly. But this apartment is the owner's home, not a "resort / vacation" property. This was not an issue for us, but if you are expecting a resort like location, this is not for you. But for us, we were looking for an affordable place to adventure from, which this was perfect. A couple suggestions ... we hit Paris in the middle of a heat wave ... we knew in advance that there was no AC, but a fan or two would have been great. Also, the family has a couple young kids ... so there was a play pen, high chair and crib in the apartment which took up quite a bit of space. And the apartment was on the 4th floor ... and no stairs. Again for us, this was fine ... part of our daily exercise. But if you have mobility issues, this apartment is probably not the best fit. But overall, we were very pleased. It really gave us the feel of authentic Paris living in a great location at an affordable price. ##### Walter F. Stayed 7 nights in Jun 2019
