Delightfully old-world belle-epoche hotel with lake-side view from our room, very good breakfast, well located close to Lake Lugano, public transport and in a quiet area of town. Very comfortable beds and good wi-fi.

Was in a quiet part of the lake but still accessible to the main city and all the transport boats. Breakfast was great and so was the restaurant downstairs for dinner.

While this property is older it is lovely and functions without problem. The staff is friendly and inviting. Breakfast is delicious and the views of the lake are gorgeous. It is farther from the town center but is worth the 10 minute walk along the lake or the 1 minute bus trip. The AC was an added bonus! My only negative is that it smells heavily of cigarette smoke.

While the building was showing its age with its creaky, carpeted floors, dim lighting, and faded furniture, it was great in the places that mattered most to us. The beds were clean and comfortable, the bathroom was very, very spacious, the air conditioner worked consistently well throughout our stay, and it was very quiet throughout the night. Breakfast options were limited to cold options (other than the option to boil your eggs and toast your bread) but the coffee was freshly made to order and you could sit outside on their balcony to enjoy your meal if you wanted. Would stay again!

Location is really great. 5 mins walk to Paradiso Train Station and Migros. Bus stop is next to hotel and 2 mins walk to Paradiso boat pier. Old hotel with bigger room. Beautiful lake view but not good facilities. The breakfast is good though. Overall, you got what you pay for.

This property has a long heritage. It was built in 1885. However, it’s pinnacle has past. It was a good place to lay our heads and the choice was a value level selection at a value level price. No regrets.

Staff were very nice. Location and view was beautiful. Property desperatly needs updating everywhere from the reception, restaurant and rooms. Very gaudy!! Time to let go of the past and move on or no one will be staying at your property. We will not be back.

Good for night life, bad for sleep

One of worst hotel experiences in my life. First impression negative due to the night club downstairs. Room in poor conditions (see pictures), a lot of noise from outside, air conditioner difficult to use, and even when off it makes a disturbing noise. On the positive side the common areas have interesting decorations, breakfast is ok (in a nice balcony with a beautiful view over the lake), the location is relatively convenient, the personell is friendly.
This is water collection from the air conditioner. If you do not pay attention it will soak the carpet (which has probably happened many times).
This is behind the bed. Doesn't look as if they are taking any care of the rooms.

MUST READ. Book at your own peril!!!

This was a couples trip and each couple booked a separate room. Pros: front desk staff was friendly and attempted to address concerns up to their limitation, location is good with easy access to downtown Lugano (we previously thought it would be further) Cons: - Hotel is VERY outdated with very few modern amenities - Management refused to allow the front desk to give us the controller for A/C unit. They claimed the weather was not warm enough and we could leave the window open. The problem with this is the excessive noise from outside all night long which leads to the next con: - The hotel has a strip club in the lobby and indecent pictures in the basement where the public bathrooms are. The nightclub attracts people at odd hours and there is loud noises and conversations keeping your from sleeping. We literally couldn’t get more than 3-4 hours of sleep per night. The solution would have been to close the windows and turn on the A/C, but… - There was a hose in the middle of the shower connecting the faucet to the shower head. You basically shower touching the hose and work your movements around it. - Even during the time of the year that managements allows A/C, there is a $30 charge per day for the usage. Overall we wanted to like the place for its location, views, and front desk customer service but at every moment, it disappointed us more.

Das Hotel ist an einer sehr schönen Lage direkt am See mit wunderbarem Ausblick. Lugano Center ist serh gut in eienm gemütlichen 10-15min Spaziergang an der Promenade erreichbar. Das Hotel ist leider ziemlich veraltet und wrde teilweise halbsaniert Das Bett ist bequem jedoch lässt das Zimmer ansonsten zu wünschen übrig. Auch die neue Duschakabine die gemacht wurde ist nicht in einem guten Zustand. Das Morgenbuffet war jedoch wieder recht gut und es hat mir an nichts gefehlt.
