The Podere is completely and ingeniously off the grid: heated, lit, and air-conditioned with solar panels. This charming 19th century villa offers its guests a breathtaking view over Lake Trasimeno and the Panicale hills and it is the ideal location for those who wish to enjoy total privacy. The property includes 3 acres of terraced olive groves, while the famous little village itself, with its shops, restaurants and open air market can be reached in just 15 minutes on foot along a lane that passes through woods of oak and chestnut, a stream, and up past a magnificent Renaissance church on the outskirts of village. Podere Molinaccio is a great "home base" to explore both Umbria and eastern Tuscany, and Panicale is very centrally located: 90 minutes south by train is Rome, with Orvieto and other hill towns along the way. Just over 100 minutes north by train is Florence. By car, you can easily drive to Cortona, Perugia, Assisi, Chiusi, Città della Pieve, Deruta, Montefalco and Montepulciano, as well as the impressive nearby Castiglione del Lago fortress and Lake Trasimeno with its unique islands and many sporting, dining and cultural activities. 4 km from the villa is the famous Lamborghini Golf Club, a 9-holes golf course created by Ferruccio Lamborghini on his estate between Panicale and the shores of Lake Trasimeno, with its 32 hectares of vineyards and its renowned Umbrian wines. We provide an exclusive wine tour and tasting at La Fiorita Estate. The house is in a beautiful setting, completely private and with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Chiara is such a brilliant host. She is so helpful with organising anything and everything. She left us a lovely bottle of wine on arrival and brought us fresh pastries on another morning. She does live on site, but we never saw her apart from when we wanted something! Things that we did and would recommend - horse trekking (the stables is also on a vineyard which produce wonderful wine), electric bike trip around lake Trasimeno, beach days on Lake Trasimeno (at Castiglione del Lago), padel tennis and trips to Castiglione and Panicale. Chiara also recommended some lovely local restaurants. All in all, a great holiday and a would thoroughly recommend this house ##### oliver p. It was spacious, very comfortable and clean. The golden nugget for this place is its owner, Chiara. She was amazing. Prior to our arrival we had asked Chiara if she would recommend excursions so we could enjoy the local culture and not just tourist areas. She organized two wine tastings for us, local dinners, a chef to come into the villa and make a five course meal and she made us a beautiful Italian dinner one night. She even arranged for a doctor to see us on a weekend as a few of us were not feeling well. The train station is not far from the villa but to ensure we knew how to get there and how to maneuver the tickets etc. she joined us to show us the way. She accompanied us on some of the excursions as our guide which made it much easier for us. We enjoyed her company so much we invited her to join us for dinners. Chiara truly made our stay in her villa sensational.
