On the pier a lot of people fish so watch for them hooks. From what I was told to fish in Florida you need a salt water and a fresh water licence in order to fish in the different waters. The hotel is old and not fancy, but it was generally clean and we thought it had a lot of character. The issue I had was when we arrived, there were bags of trash piled around the doorway outside. The front desk staff that helped me leave immediately was helpful and friendly. I wish Expedia the owner of property would contact me. Not the manager of the property . This is a great place for couples or someone just getting away for a few days. We did encounter problems along the way. Check in is at 4, we were informed that our room was “not available” and the front desk acted as if we didn’t have a room at all. When trying to get information, he was not clear and almost avoided any questions. We were finally able to check in 2 hours later. The room was poor. Patchwork on the walls that had not been repainted, it smelled awful (almost like sewage and mildew), water pressure was horrible and the shower was questionable. Also the room needed to be dusted. Also, be aware there are no elevators- so toting luggage up and down is not fun. One of our friends actually fell. Three times, the water was also shut off due to an “emergency.” Overall, it was okay.
