Simply fantastic

What a spectacular place in a quaint area full of life!!! It is also near the center where you can take the airport bus (8 min walk). The staff was very welcoming as well.

Beautiful and perfect location

Would definitely recommend Hostal Pons! The property itself is beautiful and the location is so convenient, right in the centre of Palma. Victoria was very welcoming and friendly and the rooms/bathrooms were kept very clean. If you're looking for a cheaper option definitely book, we had a very pleasant stay

This hostel in old Palma are located in heart of Palma old town and very quiet. Easy to walk where you want.

Excellent!!!

Fabulous, higly recommended! Perfect location, excellent hosting, very spacious room with a comfortable bed. Quiet and safe environment, very stylish decoratied. Congrats and a huge thank you to all the employers for keeping the hotel in such an exceptionally clean condition.

Fantastic location for exploring the old town and short walk from the airport bus station. I loved this city and all its narrow alleys. Hostal Pons is in a old palau with antique decor and furniture which made my stay even more exiting. It's staying in a piece of history. If you are a light sleeper, I recommend booking a room facing the court because facing the alley can get loud. Hostel Pons is super clean and provides basic necessities. My bed was very confortable with a nice duvet. My room had it's own ac/heating unit.

The single bedrooms are like prison cells, no hot water, not even a glass to have a drink of water. Rooms are just terrible, couldnt leave the window open, the only good thing about Hostal Pons is the location.

Victoria and Gerard are friendly, great at offering good suggestions for local food and attractions. The hotel is a sympathetically converted old residence, with unique features and decor. Overall a very pleasant stay with exceptional hosts.

Disappointing stay

While the communal areas are attractive they're not very practical as some chairs are decorative and not to be sat on, and though the staff were fairly polite i rarely saw them. There were far more negatives than positives - my room was on the third floor and was tiny, the width of the room was not as wide as i am tall (and I'm not even very tall - not an exaggeration) and it was only twice as long as my small bed. No wardrobe, just a bed, a little desk, a sink. The whole time building works were going on in the room next door that started on average from 8.30 am until 7pm, though some days it was earlier and later. Every time anyone used a sink or shower, the pipes in my room would bang loud enough to wake me up. The nearest shower was two floors below me - only one for rooms in the double figures so a long wait every day to shower - and the nearest toilet was on a different floor to the sink so you couldn't even clean your hands after without a trip to a different floor. In the four days i was there, no-one even tried to clean my room or change my towel, and i couldnt find anyone to discuss this. It would have been fine for a budget stay, but i paid a premium price, and i felt robbed, because it wasn't worth it. When the builders were working on the room, they were in front of a window that looked into my room, that was covered in see through plastic, i could see them from bed - I did ask to change rooms but was offered an even smaller room, so i just endured it all.

Loved the style of the property. Room was okay, nice and clean, shower & toilet new and fresh. Only problem was on the steps(2 of) to the shower (I was in room 19) there is a sharp piece of pipe protruding from the riser and it caught my bare foot and made a bad cut. I'm only raising this as I left early in the morning and could not relay the message. Hopefully this can be made safe for future visitors.

I love Victoria! She is nice, always smiles and helps you anyway possible. Thank you so much! The only problem is that It was boiling hot in Palma and there is no aircondition. The room was like a sauna. Had to go to cold shower three times during the night but It helped only for few minutes.

Centrally located

I liked the family running the hotel - they both were great and helpful. Few minor things to consider: due to hotel location (historic center) cars are not permitted and you need to be ready to walk with the luggage about 7 min. Lots of stairs in the building. Our room was not heated ( in January!) they need to put small heaters in every room, it was freezing in the room and bathroom. No direct day light in the room, with walls covered ceremony tiles felt like being in the medieval times. Having said that, it was different from many others in a good way - the building has a unique Spanish character and the family did their best to run it smoothly. There is always someone there at the reception to let you in if needed. We left the luggage after checking out - that was nice of them to allow it.

Nine nights in Palma

No frills accommodation in a lovely old property in the centre of the old town : walk thru the front door and it's like entering a different world away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city . The accomodation is basic , single room on top floor with a comfy bed , sink and recently installed air conditioning unit plus reliable free WiFi. Unless there are ensuites only two bathrooms with recently installed excellent showers between all the rooms , and four toilets if you include the shower rooms , yet there was never an issue getting access when needed and the brother and sister running the place were constantly cleaning these areas which were spotless . It was a quiet stay for nine nights using Palma as a base to go walking and exploring the island using the excellent red/yellow buses from the interchange, 15 minutes walk from the hostel . There's an excellent supermarket 5 minutes walk away in El Corte Ingles ,a communal fridge for guests to store items would be a welcome addition to the hostel . Additionally the single room on the top floor needs a curtain or blind over the small window that looks out on the communal patio . The room was cleaned with fresh bedding and towels every 2nd day except for some reason on the last day . No frills accommodation which worked just fine for what I wanted .
