This is more than just a home. It’s your HAPPY place. Just a 2 hour drive from Los Angeles, this 2 bedroom 2 bath mid-century oasis is centrally located near the historic Point Happy area of La Quinta. Originally built in 1965, this home is situated on a large corner lot and provides over 1600 sq ft of functional living space. The home still boasts some of its original mid-century character and has withstood the test of time. Looking for a get away? What better place than The Crest! This little paradise is located in a beautiful and quiet palm tree lined neighborhood with stunning dramatic views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Many of our neighbors have lived in the community a very long time. Just take a slow drive down our main street or take a walk around the neighborhood and you’ll see why. You are in another world. The home is lusciously landscaped with exotic varieties of desert plants and mature trees and the oasis-like pool area invites a sense of relaxation and peace. Take a nap, read a book or enjoy the views from your tree-hanging hammock or have a cup of coffee in your peaceful breakfast nook. The home has a very bright and open layout. The custom floral double entry doors that were imported from South America are stunning and unique. The home is beautifully appointed with bamboo wood flooring throughout. Inside the living area, you will notice the tasteful and inviting mid-century eco-modern design and mango wood furnishings that are popular in today’s living. The home is located close to the intersection of Hwy 111 near Point Happy, and is considered by some, to be the western gateway to La Quinta. Our small, quiet, Highland Palms community consists of less than 100 homes that were built in the early 60’s and 70’s. The location also holds a lot of historical significance, with ties to the Cahuilla Indians, The Bradshaw Trails, The Point Happy Ranch and the famous DuPont Estate just to name a few. The best part about the neighborhood is its location. You won't find a better one! It provides the perfect balance of peace and quiet while also being centrally located to everything! The house was the perfect place to spend some nice relaxing time resting from work and catching up with my brother who lives locally. The house was pristine and set up nicely. The pool was nice and cool and a refreshing break from the desert heat. The neighborhood is super quiet and away from the hustle. Owner was very responsive and easy to deal with. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Crest!! The home is situated in a beautiful neighborhood with amazing views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. it is centrally located to many restaurants, grocery stores and retail outlets and therefore was very easy for us to get around. The home is very spacious and had all the amenities we required for our stay. The beds too were very comfortable. The outside space was very nice. The pool got cleaned several times during our stay and there was more than enough pool toys and floaties available to enjoy. The property manager kept in communication with us which was very nice since this was our first Vrbo rental experience. Although I would say the home was clean there were some areas the cleaning staff could improve on such as wiping down dirty walls, baseboards and cleaning inside the garbage can to name a few. We too were initially disappointed to find out there was in fact no hot tub even though it was on the listing. It would have been nice but we much preferred the using the pool anyway. Overall I would highly recommend anyone to stay at The Crest and hope we have the opportunity to stay there again in the future!! ##### Beverly P. The house was beautifully designed, and the peaceful backyard with a pool was a highlight of our stay. We also loved the quiet neighbourhood and the stunning backdrop of the hills behind the property. Our host, Mark, was incredibly helpful and responsive, answering any questions we had and making sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location was also perfect, as it was close to everything we needed, including grocery stores, restaurants, and amazing golf courses. Overall, we would highly recommend this property for a relaxing and fun family vacation. The ping pong table was hit with them and a great place to escape the sun under the covered patio. The pool was very large and clean with plenty of floats if you need to lounge in the water. the yard was peaceful and very relaxing. The house has everything you could need on a vacation with large Tv's, comfy beds and updated bathrooms. The host Mark was very accommodating and always available for any needs or questions.
