Palm Springs City ID #3293 ToT# 6295 This custom designed mid century home, by architect John Walling, was built as the guest home of the adjoining estate, once owned by a famous Hollywood producer. The home is over 4000 square feet of luxurious interior and exterior entertaining space and is located in the Andreas Hills neighborhood, in South Palm Springs, also known as the Bel Air of Palm Springs. Canyon House is approximately 4 miles from the center of downtown Palm Springs. The home is situated on a large corner lot with a circular drive with mature landscaping with extensive LED landscape lighting. This stunning home features clean lines, walls of floor to ceiling glass and spectacular mountain views. On your approach to the home, you pass through custom-built doors into a private courtyard. Upon entering the home your in a spacious living room dining room combination (1500 sq ft) with custom built-in cabinets, gas fireplace and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass which bring the outdoors in. A built-in Sonos sound system is throughout the interior of the home and allows you to create the perfect mood. Adjoining the living room is a sunken wet bar with pass-through to the rear covered outdoor living area. Adjacent to the living room is the media room with 65” flat screen TV, large sectional sofa and comfortable chairs. The newly remodeled kitchen and adjoining breakfast room provide for the perfect opportunities to entertain large groups of guests or intimate gatherings. The kitchen is equipped with double ovens, gas cooktop and espresso machine along with 42” flat screen TV and every kitchen utensil imaginable. Located in it's own wing are the 2 en-suite guest bedrooms. Each with a private patio with direct access to the pool and spa. Each Room has a 42” flat screen TV’s and the beds are covered luxurious linens. The master bedroom suite is located on the opposite side of the home, away from the guest rooms, and is comprised of the master bedroom with gas fireplace, 42” flat screen TV with Sonos sound bar, spa bathroom with double sinks, jetted tub and separate shower. The adjoining office is ready for to close that deal with an Apple desktop computer. The Master bedroom suite has two private patios offering sweeping mountain views and direct access to the pool and spa. The outdoor entertaining area is where most of your time will be spent. Grilling of the viking gas grill, lounging on the plush sofas and armchairs watching the 45” flat screen TV, or dining at the 8 person dining table. The only thing more stunning than the pool and spa, which have changing LED lights and a sheer descent water feature, are the magical mountain views. A concierge will meet you for check in and give you a tour of the home and be available throughout your stay. They'll also be there to check you out. Robert was a terrific host - responsive and nice! The location was very special. My family spent 2 1/2 weeks relaxing by the pool and 'sheltering in place' during C-19\. It was an amazing mental health break in a home we were sad to leave. The amenities such as the TVs, outdoor BBQ, and pool were perfect for our crew, (two teenagers and a dog included). It was also nice to have plenty of office space because both my wife and I had to work while on our trip - nice office. We look forward to returning as soon as possible! ##### Tim R. We looked at other less expensive options elsewhere in town, but we decided that the extra money was worth it, and we were not disappointed, for the following reasons: The location is great. It is removed from the rest of Palm Springs in a quiet, upscale enclave. There are a ton of hiking trails within walking distance. It is quiet. But it also is very convenient to good grocery stores, golf, and downtown. Second, it worked for my family. Lovely master suite for my aging parents. Two other bedrooms with big beds and en suite bathrooms for their adult children. And it was dog-friendly. Note, however, that the property is not entirely fenced in, and our enterprising labrador found a way to sneak out of the back yard while we were on a hike. Luckily, our dog is very trustworthy to be left indoors, but for others with dogs more likely to chew, that could be an issue. Third, the home was beautifully appointed and had all the amenities we sought. My dad made a ritual of sunrise soaks in the hot tub, there were plenty of nooks and informal places to take some alone time while still being part of the family, the kitchen was well furnished (my family prefers to cook for ourselves than eat out for every meal), and there was not a cheesy rental vibe--the artwork and furniture were of a taste level and quality that made us feel like we were in a friend's home, rather than a rental property. The property manager was very attentive and concerned that everything was in working order when we arrived. We had no need of his help during our stay, but he made it clear that he was available if anything came up, or if we needed any recommendations on what to see/do/eat while we were in town. The drawbacks were minimal. A couple dining chairs needed repair, and coffee-making was an unexpected challenge (the normal coffee maker needs to be replaced, the espresso machine was too elaborate for us to figure out, but thankfully, there was a Keurig that saved the day). The two non-master bathrooms sported what appeared to be original fixtures, which were cool from a design perspective, but their efficiency is from another era--water pressure was a little light, and as I am 6'5" tall, I had to get into some interesting poses to get the job done.
