L’appartamento, attico con terrazza, è ubicato al piano quarto di un edificio ottocentesco con accesso dal n.74 della Via Volturno, adiacente al mercato storico del Capo ed in prossimità del Teatro Massimo, location privilegiata per i collegamenti urbani ed extraurbani e per gli itinerari storici e culturali. L’ingresso si apre direttamente sul soggiorno, arredato con un comodo divano letto 2 posti, angolo tv, tavolo da pranzo per 6 persone. Da qui si accede alla camera da letto matrimoniale, all'ampio ripostiglio, la cucina separata perfettamente attrezzata corredata di tutti gli accessori (frigorifero, forno) e al bagno con doccia. L’appartamento è dotato di impianto di riscaldamento ed acqua calda sanitaria, aria condizionata. Dal soggiorno si passa ad un balcone, da cui, attraverso una scala a chiocciola, si accede ad una terrazza di circa 25 mq con splendida vista sul centro storico di Palermo. Il Mercato storico del Capo è luogo di grande fascino: situato in un quartiere popolarissimo, si formò in età musulmana, era abitato dagli Schiavoni, pirati commercianti di schiavi. I venditori creano quella musica capace di penetrare con assordante cantilena in dialetto palermitano (abbanniare), invitando ad acquistare la loro merce. Il variopinto pesce disteso sui banchi di ghiaccio è accostato amorosamente, illuminato da grandi lampade e bagnato in continuazione per esaltarne le qualità, compresi i pesci grandi: tonno e pesce spada. L’appartamento si trova nel pieno centro della città di Palermo, a due passi dal Teatro Massimo, dal percorso UNESCO arabo normanno e dai siti di maggiore interesse. Si possono raggiungere tranquillamente a piedi la cattedrale, la cappella palatina, la chiesa della martorana, il palazzo dei normanni, i quattro canti, piazza pretoria, i mercati storici di Palermo, il Capo e Ballaró, che vi conquisteranno con i loro colori e folklore. Liaisons très fréquentes. Daniela qui parle l'anglais et le français est au petits soins avec ses hôtes afin de leurs assurer le meilleur des séjours. A recommander sans hésitation. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and spices for making a meal. The view from the top terrace is wonderful, so we made sure to enjoy breakfasts and coffee and cocktails and even a dinner on the terrace. The apartment is well situated for walking to most sights and attractions of Palermo. Many restaurants and stores are close by and the Mercato del Capo is right next to the apartment building. Die Wohnung liegt perfekt um die Stadt und das Leben dort zu genießen. Der Mercato del Capo beginnt direkt hinter dem Haus und ist wirklich sehr schön. Man kann alles zu Fuß machen und braucht kein Auto, weil alles in der Altstadt innerhalb von max. 30 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen ist. Die wunderschöne Dachterasse haben wir ausgiebig genutzt und Daniela ist wirklich sehr nett und war auch immer für uns erreichbar. Wir kommen gerne wieder. This location is right at the beginning of the market YET extremely quiet and comfortable. It does not have a microwave but everything else you need is there. There is a little grocery about 2 blocks away to buy cereal and milk if need be and a really nice restaurant a few feet from the front door. The apartment has a lovely roof top terrace for relaxation and a little balcony with flowers growing, so pretty. The washing machine worked perfectly. The bathroom is very adequate with a bidet and small shower. Larger people may struggle a bit with the small shower but as a normal sized person it was fine. There is an elevator so getting up to the apartment is easy for all.The host made certain that all my questions were answered and accommodated my requests appropriately. She is very friendly and communication went seamlessly. I would definitely stay there again and greatly appreciated her efforts. ##### Christina M. This place is conveniently located above the colourful historic market, very close to Teatro Massimo, and a walking distance to the Cathedral and many other places we visited on our 4 day trip. Excellent communication with the Daniela and her husband. They greeted us with local sweets, cannoli and a 7 layer cake. The apartment was well stocked and spotless clean. The host Daniela was wonderful and even arranged a computer monitor for me to use for work. The AC worked great, it was 34° outside but completely comfortable inside. Location is great for walking all around the city, there is a largish supermarket 100m away, and great restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay there again. ##### al s. Sapevamo dunque di voler trascorrere molto tempo anche in casa. Questo ha ristretto di molto il campo nella vasta offerta di case vacanza e B&B presenti in città, molti dei quali arredati in modo approssimativo, poco luminosi o privi di ascensore. La casa di Daniela e Marcello aveva già superato questa selezione sulla carta. Un palazzetto molto ben ristrutturato di recente, la posizione strategica sulla storica Porta Carini, accesso al vivace mercato del Capo, un ultimo piano servito da un comodissimo ascensore, una terrazza dalla quale si vedono i Monti che circondano Palermo, le cupole della Cattedrale e quella del Teatro Massimo, la vicinanza con i luoghi più interessanti dalla centralissima via Maqueda, al Teatro Massimo e al Politeama, oltre a un comodissimo parcheggio pubblico, indispensabile per noi che viaggiamo con auto al seguito. Dopo i primi piacevoli ed esaustivi contatti telefonici, appena arrivati siamo stati accolti dai proprietari, Daniela e Marcello che ci hanno illustrato la casa e poi ci hanno anche accompagnato a fare un giro a piedi per prendere confidenza con il quartiere. La casa ha tutto ciò che serve. Gli impianti di aria condizionata e riscaldamento sono nuovissimi. Ma il punto di forza che rende speciale questa casa confortevole, ben ristrutturata e anche silenziosa nonostante la vitalità del quartiere che la caratterizza, è la terrazza. Salendo attraverso una scala a chiocciola la casa si apre su Palermo. Per noi è stato il posto più frequentato. Le sessioni di Yoga, Tai Chi, Qui Gong e Meditazione al mattino mentre il mercato comincia a popolarsi di voci e i profumi irresistibili delle specialità che si cominciano a preparare resteranno per sempre nella nostra memoria. Abbiamo sempre mangiato in terrazza o semplicemente consumato i nostri aperitivi godendo dei cieli cangianti e dei paesaggi nei d’intorni. E che dire di Daniela e Marcello, della loro cura e attenzione ai loro ospiti e della capacità di farci sentire a casa nostra più che a casa loro? Insomma, é stata un’esperienza a 5 stelle, senza difetti e sbavature. In una parola … indimenticabile. Speriamo di poter tornare prestissimo. ##### Roberta M. The apartment is situated directly next to the Capo market and near a bus stop. The food and culture starts right at the doorstep. The terrace is a bonus, what a beautiful view of the city. Die Wohnung ist perfekt gelegen für alles, was man in Palermo halt so machen sollte: Über Märkte gehen, Shopping in der Via Liberta, historische Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Kathedrale, alles zu Fuß erreichbar.
