Its narrow and cobbled streets, along with the stone houses, create an authentic and quiet atmosphere, ideal for disconnecting. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages, as evidenced by monuments such as the Romanesque church of Sant Joan (11th century), the church of Santa Maria, and vestiges of castles and defense towers, such as the Sant Salvador castle, the Torre de les Hores, and the Vilamarí castle. The village is known for its spectacular views of the Pyrenees, the Bay of Roses, and the Serra de Rodes, especially from the Plaza Mirador-Balcó de l’Empordà and the hermitage of Sant Onofre, located at an altitude of 400 meters.
