It is a retreat into the tranquility of the Northwoods without the long drive. Set on a scenic yet quaint McGinnis Lake that has amazing sunsets from the deck or the pier. The lake is electric motor only, creating a calm and peaceful environment. THE SPACE Cabin Details: The cabin was updated with renovations in the fall of 2022\. It features 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and sleeps 12 comfortably. Master Bedroom – Main floor, King Bed, Dresser, TV with Roku, ceiling fan, Walk-in-Closet, en-suite with jetted tub, stand up shower, double vanity Second Bedroom – Main Floor, 1 Double Bed and 2 single beds, dresser and closet Third Bedroom – Lower Level, 1 Queen Bed, TV with Roku, dresser and closet Fourth Bedroom – Lower Level, 2 Queen Beds, dresser and closet The main level is an open concept style, boasting vaulted ceilings with a gas fireplace and a stunning view of the lake. The kitchen features new stainless steel appliances and a dining room with a large kitchen table. There is a fully stocked kitchen with dishes, glasses, pots and pans so you can create a tasty meal. Also, there is a dishwasher, microwave, full size toaster, air fryer, coffee maker and full-size refrigerator. The living room has plenty of seating with and L shaped reclining furniture, a leather recliner and a 65 inch Smart TV. The main level has another bathroom with tub and a mudroom with a washer and dryer. Off the main level, there is plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors. There is a wrap-around deck with an outdoor dining table, Weber gas grill and a screened in porch. Be sure to sit on one of the many rocking chairs to take in the lake views and beautiful sunsets over the lake. The lower level features a large bar with mini-fridge, family room and many board games. There is an “Arcade1Up” arcade system featuring 516 old school video games including some of your favorites such as Mrs. Pacman, Donkey Kong, Frogger, and Dig Dug. Kids of all ages will enjoy hours of fun on this system. In addition, there is a Golden Tee Golf Arcade machine that features some of the classic golf courses for hours of fun. The electric fireplace and 70 inch TV make this another great place to hang out and watch the big game or your favorite movie. There is a walk-out exit into another screened in porch that leads to the fire pit surrounded by chairs, a flat back yard for yard games and a large pier for all your fishing needs. Enjoy the 6-person hot tub that is partially enclosed and fully screened in. Perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day. Want more fun things to do??? The garage has been converted into a game room. It has a ping pong table, foosball table, air hockey table, axe throwing and a dart board. Devils Lake State Park, John Muir Park, Roche-A-Cri State Park, Cascade Mountain, snowmobile trails, hiking, boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hunting and ice fishing...just to name a few of the opportunities available in our beautiful and nature-filled area of Central Wisconsin. The cabin is a short 30 minute drive to the Dells and is located just 3.5 hours from Minneapolis, 3 hours from Chicago, 2 hours from Milwaukee and only 1 hour from Madison! Woodside (Dells) Sports Complex and Woodside (Mauston) Sports Complex are both 25 minutes away. This is a perfect place to stay for youth competitions and sports events. Guests have sole use of the entire property during their stay. The owner has a locked shed and 2 locked closets that guests do not have access to. We give the guests the space they need to enjoy an unencumbered vacation, but we are a phone call away if there is an emergency. The water was chilly but expected early May, still a nice lake to kayak. The updated kitchen appliances were amazing. Plenty of room for everyone and nice additions to enjoy in the evenings when we returned from activities. That is the pros. The con was the cleanliness of the floors. They were sticky and dirty, we mopped them ourself as my wife's white socks were black after she walked around for an hour or so. Not a major problem, but something that should have been addrerssed. The kitchen was everything we needed for making all our meals there! We appreciated the great water pressure in all of the bathrooms for rinsing off after our days on the lake! The house was beautiful and very clean. They supplied everything we needed aside from the normal things you would bring on a trip (toiletries, food, etc). The kids absolutely loved the game room. The lake was peaceful and perfect for swimming, fishing and kayaking. We also enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated that it was screened in so we didn’t need to worry about mosquitoes. The new owners/management made some very nice improvements this past year upgrading the deck area and adding a lower patio area with table and chairs and some outdoor “party” lights. Also some kitchen upgrades. All very nice. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The canoe, paddle boards and kayaks provided for use were greatly enjoyed. And the biggest bass caught was right off of the dock! Not great for swimming but lots of fishing fun for kids from the dock. It is a great property for a family vacation with a game room for added fun. There were a few minor things that needed repair which we reported and the owner was responsive. The pictures perfectly represent the property.
