Best Hotel in Town

Pros: Location Cleanliness Comfortable Nice Staff
I grew up in the area and after many years of coming back to visit family and friends, we have decided to stay at the Hampton due to the great experience we have every time. There isn't much to do in town and even the Target across the road closed, but anyone with kids can't beat having Hy-Vee next door for those last minute trips for items you might have forgotten. Decent breakfast and rooms are always clean and comfortable. Overall this is the best hotel we have stayed at in Ottumwa. Recommend to anyone.

Spa Broken!

The spa was broken which is disappointing for spending $129 a night I wanted to be able to enjoy a spa while the kids swam. The service was good and staff very friendly

Overall very good. My only problem was internet service was problematic. I thought the cost was a little steep for the area.

No black out shade or curtain, but clean and quiet

The room was clean and pleasant, and quiet but I was very unhappy with the fact that the only curtain was a wispy sheer. It didn't provide privacy and there was no black out shade to keep the room dark. I have really enjoyed staying in Hampton Inns up until now, but that would be a real disincentive to stay in the future if that is a chain-wide change.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to give us some feedback. I am glad you found the room clean and pleasant, but I am surprised that you could not find the blackout curtains. All of our guest rooms have black out curtains. Perhaps they were pushed back. Did you let the front desk know they were missing, if they were missing? Had they been missing we would have certainly fixed the issue. Thank you

They changed my credit card $50 that I didn't have any charges

Thank you for staying with us. I apologize that my staff did not explain that we authorize $50.00 for incidentals. This is an authorization and not a charge. We do this because you can charge things to your room such as Suite Shop purchases. This authorization will fall off within 72 hours for a credit card and within 10 business days for a debit card. Again I apologize for any inconvenience.
