Hotel is very convenient - excellent food

Posted 3-May-2016
Pros: Location is close to all areas we needed to get to while on this trip. The Albion Rooms is excellent! excellent food and atmosphere.
Cons: Junior suite we were in needed a bit of make over.
Location: This hotel is close to the shopping center and Shaw Centre. Short walk to the Parliament and library. The Hooch has awesome food & craft beers.
Checked in late but room assigned was not ready for some reason. Front desk upgraded us to speed up check in. That's good customer service which we appreciated!

Great location

Posted 20-Apr-2016
Pros: The closeness to everything we wanted to see...
Location: The market is close and close to Parliament, other museums, and the mint...
We found everything we wanted close to us. The market, Parliament Building, and the Mint...Drove around at night and everything was close and we could find our way around. We would have liked a sheet on the top , but we found it in the closet when we were ready to leave. The shower was great and the beds comfortable. We had a long walk to the pool but it was warm and large... The parking was ok but low ceiling and we parked in the 4th level , no room on the 3rd level.. It was fine we walked up the stairs because we could park close to the elevator side of the parking lot. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family.... It was recommended by family and the rate was excellent.

Good location close to Byward Market

Posted 15-Apr-2016
Pros: - central location - Albion Rooms bar area with unique snacks
Cons: - didn't seem to be any electrical outlets near the beds (just around desk) Inconvenient if you want to keep your phone/tablet plugged in beside you.
Location: - Byward Market - Rideau Canal - Parliament Buildings - Rideau Centre Shopping - National Gallery of Canada
Novotel on Nicolas Street offers a great location close to Byward Market and is right next to Rideau Centre shopping mall. There is a lot of construction around the hotel but our room wasn't noisy at all. Some streets are closed off / under construction but that's nothing the hotel can control. The rates for weekdays are a tad expensive for a smallish superior double room and a television I just could not get to work, but the beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. It was also very quiet in the halls. WiFi is free. There is a pool and fitness centre that I didn't use. The hotel has a restaurant (Albion Rooms) but $16.50 for the plated cold eggs and bacon is a bit much. If you have to eat in the hotel, go for the slightly more expensive cold buffet - still over-priced for what it is, though.

Nice hotel - close to Rideau Centre

Posted 11-Apr-2016
Pros: The rooms, the breakfast, the room where breakfast was served and the lobby was very welcoming with the sounds of people in the bar/restaurant area.
Cons: Everything was great.
Location: Close to Rideau Centre and Byward market. Go-carting for the guys while girls shopped was about 1/2 hour drive away but well worth it!
Easy access to Rideau Centre and restaurants in the Byward Market. Small clean modern room. Comfortable bed. Excellent continental breakfast included in the price of our stay (all four of us travelling together agreed).

Nice facilities, nice location, had a great stay!

Posted 8-Apr-2016
I liked the room and was really pleased with how clean and well maintained they were. The gym and the pool were great additions too. Everything was really comfortable -- and the location is very convenient as well! Almost everything is walkable. (I walked all the way to Gattineau from the hotel!)

Nice hotel

Posted 7-Apr-2016
Pros: Great location, clean and renovated.
Cons: I must've been allergic to something in the room. I woke up with really red eyes.
Location: Rideau Centre, Byward Market, Beaver Tails.
From the moment you walk into the hotel, you'll notice the contemporary and renovated lobby, iMacs and a nice bar on the right. The hotel staff were very friendly and quick. The hotel itself very conveniently located and in walking distance to all the pubs and restaurants of Byward Market. There's some construction along Nicholas Street but there's still a small pathway to get to Rideau St. I had room 324 which faced inwards and I had a nice view of all the nice rooftop mechanical equipment and louvers, one level down. Surprisingly noise was not an issue. Getting to the room from the corridor was a trip, as the corridors a bit more convoluted than one would expect. The room was nice and clean, and also looks like it's been recently renovated. The washroom was a nice treat, with interesting floor tiles and enough counter space. The tub didn't drain too well, so my foot was in couple inches of water at all times. Fortunately nothing came back out of the drain. TV was a bit small, but was tolerable. There's a nice long desk for setting up your laptop and work. Overall very satisfied with this hotel.

Good location, paper thin walls

Posted 6-Apr-2016
Room is nicely redone from the past several times i have stayed there. However the walls were paper thin, we could hear others using the washroom, showering, talking, snoring! Will not be staying again

Nice hotel at center of highlights

Posted 5-Apr-2016
Pros: It was close to everything. We parked the car and walked everywhere.
Cons: The double beds should be changed to queens and bedding could be upgraded.
Location: Ottawa marketplace for great restaurants. Rideau Center for shopping. Parliament and museums just a walk away.
Nice hotel, walking distance from everything (good food, shopping, entertainment and sightseeing). Friendly staff. Great little restaurant for breakfast.
