Great place to stay in Ottawa!

Posted 18-Oct-2016
Location: Excellent downtown location within walking distance of amazing restaurants (try Vittoria Trattoria), Byward Market, Parliament Buildings & shopping.
Overall my wife and I were very pleased with our room. The plusses far outweighed any negatives. On the plus side, the mini fridge with its clear door was handy, and the lit headboard (with adjustable reading lights) an interesting touch, dispensing with the need for shaded lamps. Bed was on the firm side, but surprisingly comfortable, and the pillows perfect, slept well. We found the sheet-covered duvet much better than layers. Room temperature was fully adjustable within half degrees. The shower height was fully adjustable with a handheld. Housekeeping responded generously to our request for extra coffees & cream. Checkout wasn't til noon. The location was excellent, within walking distance of amazing restaurants, Byward Market, the Parliament Buildings and shopping. On the down side, the shower door leaked, the shower itself could have used more shelf room (only one tiny shelf for 2-4 people!), the towels were rough, and the TV reception very pixelated with limited channels. Overall, would definitely consider a return visit!

Very well located at the heart of Ottawa.

Pros: Often arrive there because of location convenience.
Cons: Room a bit small (for Canadian standards) and considering the rate. Not enough towels.
Location: Great location. Nearby market area (restaurants, boutiques, cafés). Close to National Gallery, Parliament, shopping all easy walking.
Nice entrance hall. Good buffet for breakfast. Easy access to indoor parking.

In the heart of Ottawa's tourist area

The room looked nothing like the rooms pictured on the Expedia website. Even though the rooms were comfortable, I would have chosen another hotel if I had known that I wouldn't be getting the room I selected on the website.

Was put into this hotel after Expedia accidentally didn't book me in my original hotel. I had a wonderful stay and they totally took very good care of me. Happy I ended up at this hotel!

Great Location

Posted 25-Sep-2016
Cons: Not that it can be improved, just note that finding the hotel by car and locating the parking is tricky due to one way strets and construction.
Location: Right next to the Byward Market, across the street from the Rideau Centre, and walking distance to all of the museums, Parliament and the Rideau Canal
This was our first trip to Ottawa and we really couldn't have selected a better hotel. The location, amenities - very good fitness centre, complete with pool and a very good restaurant and lobby lounge - friendly, helpful staff, and quiet, clean, comfortable rooms all made this a fantastic experience for us. I think the floor we were on had recently been renovated so it was up to date and modern. We have no complaints or issues that could have made this property better. Great value for the money.

Pros: Location
Great , would be nice though if they gave two microscopic bars of soap per room, one for shower and one for sink!

Beware ants

Posted 20-Sep-2016
Pros: the breakfast was good
Cons: care about your guests!!!!!!!
Location: near Byward Market
There were ants along a wall near the desk. Because the ear piece of the phone was dirty, I got changed out of my PJ's and went downstairs to complain. I told the front desk I did not want to switch rooms because my husband was already sleeping but that I was not receiving the proper experience that I paid for with a four star hotel. The front desk did nothing except to say they would take care of it. The next morning I told a new staff person at the front desk and they said no reimbursement of any kind could be done because I booked third party. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he was busy but that they would let him know I was at breakfast. The 45 minutes I was at breakfast no one came to see me. I left to tour the city and when I came back at the end of the day, to pick up my luggage, the original staff member at the front desk said that they were fumigating. I again asked to speak to the manager. They said he was in a meeting but would let him know I was here. After 10 minutes I had to leave. I never was able to speak to the manager, and nobody reached out to me to apologize or offer any kind of complimentary gesture to make up for the inconvenience. Even a small effort, like covering my breakfast of $10 would have done it! I could not use the desk during our stay and I actually stuck my hand down the side of the wall the first night trying to find the light switch to the lamp. I would never recommend this hotel.
