Overall it was a great experience our stay here. Too bad the situation going on across the street with the shelter, I know is no on your hands but it was not a safe feeling.

Great hotel and walkable distance to all top tourist spots, including Byward Market, Parliament and many museums. Breakfast and fitness centre were excellent. Nice secure underground parking. There are some issues in the area with a lot of visible homelessness/drug use, but that is a challenge in many downtown areas.

Everything was great here. All the normal amenities that holiday inn express has plus a large rooftop patio. There is underground parking. Plenty of spots. But if you drive a pickup truck you will have a problem getting into the parking. We have a large suv and it was fine The hotel is across the street from a homeless shelter The shelter patrons a nice and not at all violent but just be aware and have a few bucks in your pocket as there will be many asks. We really enjoyed our stay. We could walk straight down the street for 15 minutes to reach the art gallery on Sussex From there you can walk down Sussex to see the parliament buildings. On your way you will pass Clarence street where there are many restaurants. The location of this hotel is ideal we found.

When arrived at the hotel they told us that the parking was sold out and that we had to park our car in an underground parking that required us to pay and was in an area where there was many homeless person in the streets asking for some money. The hotel staff told us that if something occurs to our car it was our responsibility not theirs. They only gave us one roll of paper toilet in the room.

It was very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful . Breakfast buffet was very good and well stocked. The gym was clean , the pool was decent but no jacuzzi , both had enough towels The room has all the amenities needed , iron and fridge , microwave, coffee machine , and soaps and shampoos and body lotions. The only thing there's no freezer section in the fridge but the staff was kind enough to put out ice packs in a freezer with them. We were able to get indoor parking for 18$/night , but those that came the day after had no more parking available. They had to park further.

This place was terrible! Not enough parking for guests, so we had to park 4 blocks away. We paid for public parking for 24 hours and still got a ticket from the city! Be aware of the location as well. Yes it’s close to parliament, but also close to many homeless, drug addicts. We saw a man shooting heroin, people smoking crack and multiple drug deals go down. Our hotel room floor was SO dirty, we had to keep a towel at our bed to wipe our feet off before we got under the sheets. There were little, dark hard bits of something all over the floor. My daughter had white socks and they were brown after spending some time walking in the room. Also found what looked like a bed bug right on top of the bedding! I brought up the condition of the room with management and was told that the 7th floor was fumigated the week prior, due to ants from the rooftop balcony. I was told it was probably dead ants on the floor. So why wasn’t the room properly vacuumed?? Gross! (The manager told me later in a email that it was a beetle that I found on my bed.) The only “good” thing about this place was the free breakfast. Lots of food and lots of seating. Just be careful looking out the window - we had the unfortunate privilege of watching a homeless lady peeing on the sidewalk during breakfast. Her back end pointing right at the window!!
