The hotel is in a good, quiet location that's still very close to all the sites and attractions.

Wonderful stay. Great pool for the kids. Pretty central but with little kids and rain still needed to drive to Parliament, etc.

March break with the kids

Posted 7-Mar-2016
Pros: Convenient location, clean, good value. On site restaurant. Pool.
Cons: The restaurant was understaffed at the time we went for breakfast. Ran out of towels at the pool and pool shower was too hot.
Location: Near downtown Ottawa (Parliament buildings and Museum of Nature are just across the river) and right by the Museum of History / Children's Museum
We planned a family vacation for the kids and their cousins during March break. Our group stayed one night at the Four Points Sheraton which is right across the street from the Children's Museum. We were able to leave our car parked at the hotel and walk across to the museum. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and efficient at check-in. There is a restaurant on site where we had our supper. It was reasonably priced, with a kids menu that wasn't all fried food, with a nice menu selection for the adults too. We had a swim in the pool after supper. The pool is quite small but perfect for a group of young kids to burn off energy before bed. We also had breakfast at the hotel buffet. We seemed to go for breakfast right after a rush period and they were slow getting an empty table cleared of dirty dishes and bringing coffee/juice and cutlery. The buffet was nice and a pretty typical selection including something for everyone.

Affordable, great staff

This hotel is tricky to rate - the staff were fantastic but my overall stay was not excellent. My first floor room was a nice size - but very noisy - and the noise did not stop till late at night. Difficult when trying to rest up for meetings. Bathroom was well fitted but dingy. This wouldn't be the first hotel i book again...

Nice hotel with a 15 minute walk to Ottawa.

Posted 11-Feb-2016
Pros: Staff were friendly and it had descent restaurant and bar area.
Cons: Not charging $15.00 per day for parking!
Location: The hotel was convenient and easy to get to but still close to Ottawa. It is also directly across the street from the National History Museum and IMAX
We were only going to stay a couple of days but decided to stay a week because the cross-country skiing was so good and it was relatively close to the happenings at the 2016 Winterlude. We walked into Ottawa a few nights from the Hotel and it was only 15 minutes to the main entrance of Gatineau Park in Chelsea or 10 minutes to the most southern end of the park.

Nice Hotel but Small Parking

Posted 2-Feb-2016
Pros: The beds were comfortable and room spacious.
Cons: Everything is expensive. $15 a night for parking, $15 if you want to use a microwave, and the restaurant downstairs is incredibly expensive.
Location: Right across the street from Canadian History museum, close to Parliament. Some restaurants nearby. Nothing open after 6pm.
The stay was alright, the room was clean and relatively updated. WiFi signal was good, and the view was great. My only issue was the parking situation, and it truly causes me to look elsewhere next time I stay in the area. The underground parking garage is tiny, like it was designed for motorcycles. The garage entrance cannot accommodate 2 vehicles, and even worse if someone is trying to enter and exit at the same time. There's no room to back up inside to move out of the way. The parking garage also has no mirrors around the corners, so you have to assume no one is coming around the impossibly tight corners because you can't tell. We would have parked outside for the most part, but the lack of shovelling made it impossible to see the lines for spaces, and all the 'Small car parking' spots with clearly visible signage were taken up by massive SUVs and pickup trucks. The non-paid parking spots for passenger drop off were always filled with the same 5 vehicles despite the signs saying 15 minute parking. We had to park and lug our bags and 2 year old in the cold and snow to get to the entrance since no enforcement of their drop off zone was made. It was so convoluted that a small fender bender happened right in front of the entrance Friday afternoon and two groups of guests were screaming at each other.
