Nice location and personnel, rooms just okay
Nicely located in front of the Canadian Museum of History and near the Alexandra Bridge, this hotel has its bright sides. You can literally walk into Ottawa's ByWard Market in just a few minutes from the hotel, using Alexandra Bridge's convenient wooden sidewalk.
Parking and check-in were uneventful, the hotel personnel was competent, helpful and nice.
The restaurant is nice, with a conventional but well-executed menu; the restaurant personnal was very helpful.
The hotel rooms were a disappointment though. We had a room with 2 double beds. The mattresses were way too soft, you'd literally sink into them. The carpet is worn out and has a smell. In fact, the whole room had a stale smell, which permeated our clothes and our skin. The AC unit was efficient but noisy, and to make things worse, the mini fridge was also very noisy (and not efficient at all).
Overall, I like the hotel's location and the very dedicated employees. But the room felt old, worn out and on the cheap side. I would have expected more from Four Point.
