The listing on Expedia, and on the sign of the motel itself, say that there is A/C. When I went there, I was told it is central air - but this is not very effective. My room was like a furnace. I had to cancel right away, and went to a different hotel for the duration of my trip.

This motel not exactly same from inside. No air conditioning. No Fair arms no the bed is hard and old .there some bugs in room.no hot water in bath

The fellow that checked me in was very pleasant and helpful. The sidewalks were in shambles, the room appeared to be clean but was in such poor condition that it made the cleanliness questionable. The king bed was comfy, I had lots of pillows & I had a coffee maker for my morning coffee so that was good. The part of town I was in looked questionable, possibly because of the appearance of the building & lot so I locked myself in my room until I needed to leave. No shuttle to the airport (cab cost $50 so not worth staying here to cab it to the airport- next time I’ll spend the extra $50 on a nicer place and stay closer to the airport). Either the remote or tv didn’t work in room 118. I wouldn’t willingly stay here again.

Surprisingly not disappointing
I chose this motel knowing what I’m getting so I wasn’t disappointed in that regard. The room is relatively clean and so is the bathroom. It’s quiet and somewhat private. I would go back again.

Can see part of the motel under renovations, but my room was in need of some basic tlc to make it more presentable. Not gonna complain as I don’t usually stay at motels, so comparison to hotels wouldn’t be fair.

The place need some up grade the staff was good. My stay there was for 2 day but only stay for 1day. Because cause of an emergency i have to leave. So i has the office if they can refund back a part of the money for the one day and they say no i was just asking a little part back. So that will be my last time booking there.

Thank you for your response. Had you contacted the office when you had an issue, we could have accommodated your request. On the same date as your arrival, we have comments from other customers, stating quite the opposite of your comment. Beacon Hill Motel is a Clean, Quiet, Comfortable, and Budget Friendly place to stay in Ottawa. As for the Orange barrier covering almost half of the motel, this is due to a fire our motel suffered in June 2016. Work is set to begin, on August 31, 2018, and that barrier will soon come down. Thank you again for your comment, we hope you give us another chance, in the future.

Pros - small complex, quiet, in the middle of all the events we had to attend, not far off the hwy, staff seemed nice, clean, all rooms had a kitchenette, no carpets Cons- 2 windows in our unit didn’t close much less lock so that was a safety hazard, no AC - no unit in the room to control the temp, sheets & towels were worn and had holes in it, everything very dated

It was ok for what we needed it for, the bed was comfortable but their AC is pretty much non existent. We had to open the windows and there is no screens on the windows so didn't sleep well. Otherwise it's ok for 1 or 2 nights. Owners are very friendly and welcoming.
