Clean and Affordable

Posted 23-May-2016
Pros: This hotel was very close to the seminar we were attending
Cons: More supervision, security, would improve this residence
Location: There is nothing to walk to around here. There is a nice pathway to walk through the woods on the property
Remember this is a university campus! We enjoyed our stay since it was minutes away from our seminar. Our rooms were clean, but quite worn. Friday night brought swarms of noisy teenagers with little supervision. But it's a campus and they're kids. It's to be expected. Breakfast was a continental breakfast including multigrain bagels, yogurt, fruit and cereals. All food must be eaten in the dining hall. Parking was a little confusing, especially since the person who checked us in explained nothing about it. So had a gone with my instinct and further questioned him, a lot of hassle would have been avoided. I would stay here again, even with the ruckus of teenagers :)

Two room apartment great when staying with kids.

We had a great time here. It was a little hard to find but we were glad with our choice. Not sure if we were just lucky but hotel breakfast was amazing. Great choice of food - wonder if this is because there was a Summer camp happening whilst we were there. We were travelling with a six year old and having two bedrooms meant we all got some sleep after a long flight from the UK. Very impressed with the cost two. Fantastic value

Comfortable

This is very unusual but practical. It is a college dorm used on downtime for outside travelers. There are two bedrooms per unit with a common room which has a TV and phone. There is individual wifi and each room has a desk and closet area for clothes. The rooms are clean and towels changed every day. A very good choice for a low price.

We were not aware this was a dorm. There was no mention of the college on expedia. It was very clean, but the room was 'no frills' to put it lightly.

Clean and inexpensive residence in Oshawa

Posted 26-Aug-2015
Pros: Clean and comfortable room.
Cons: Front staff not overly friendly (it's not actually a hotel, but a student residence). Breakfast was only continental due to being later in the summer
Inexpensive way to stay if you have an event in and around the Oshawa area. You get access to their fitness centre which is a nice bonus. Surrounding area was wilderness where you could take a walk (even though the residence is part of the UOIT campus). I believe breakfast is normally a full range of food, but since it was close to the return of students (late August), that area was closed and thus the breakfast was only bagel, muffins, cereal and some limited fruit (was still good enough for me). Beds were reasonably comfortable. Room was nice overall.

It is a student residence

Posted 26-Aug-2015
Pros: Nothing since it isn't a hotel
Cons: Beds and food
Like most student residence, bare, plain, not that clean and the beds are extremely uncomfortable. If open to the public in the summer mattresses need to be changed! Food was typical student cafeteria food. Won't do this again!
