The room was small (even for Japan) and smelled so horrifically of smoke I had trouble breathing. For some context I have know to be a scocial smoker and he smell doesn’t bother me, this was next level smoke smell. Maybe it was just our room, but we weren’t able to ask for a new room due to language barriers. The lobby and elevators also smelled strongly of smoke. Staff were very polite and I could tell they wanted to be helpful.
