"Clean and comfy hotel close to Universal Studio"
Hotel was interesting as it is having a minion theme now. Room was clean and comfortable. A good gesture by the hotel to provide bubble bath. The lobby with the fish tank is eye-catching. Compared to other hotels around the region, this hotel is more interesting.

"Great location for Universal Studios! FIRM bed"
This hotel was great for visiting Universal Studios. The entrance to the hotel is the first thing you see as you exit the train station at Universal City. And the park entrance is less than 5 minutes walking. The area is great with tons of restaurants. The room came with free breakfast available in all 3 of the hotel's restaurants, including one on the 32nd floor with an awesome view. My only complaint for the hotel is that the bed was as hard as a rock and they didn't have any sort of mattress pads available for anyone requesting a softer bed. We stayed at the sister hotel, Hotel Keihan Universal City the following two nights and loved it even more with a small themed room (wallpaper to look like a castle/library) and the bed was softer. Both hotels have great price and come with free breakfast when we booked on Expedia.

"Nice hotel, not in centre but convenient links"
Initially quite confusing how to find hotel, as although very close to Bentencho station you can't walk in a straight line and instead have to go down an underpass or through an overhead tunnel and hotel is not signposted (in English at least). Nice lobby with coffee bar, efficient service. Room small but with amazing view of city which more than made up for it.

"Perfect hotel for Universal Studios"
My husband and I stayed here for our visit to Universal Studios and it was perfect for us. The price was excellent. The wifi worked well. It is just about 100 feet from the train station exit and about a 3 minute walk to the front gate of Universal. The room was small but comfortable and perfect for just 2 people. We paid $5 more for the theme room and loved it... we got one designed like an old castle library. Fun for $5. I don't know what the other themes might be but I'm happy we got that one. The breakfast was included in the price and was very good, but it does fill up quickly. There was a pretty long line when we got there at 8:00 for breakfast but it moved quickly and I think we only waited 10 minutes. We had stayed in the sister hotel, Hotel Keihan Universal Tower one night earlier because this one was booked up for that date. The Keihan Tower hotel had a slightly larger room, but the bed was hard as a rock. The Keihan City Hotel beds were much much better in our opinion. The two hotels are right across from each other at the exit of the train station. We went to Universal on a Tuesday. It was still crowded but very manageable. We bought our park tickets and express passes the morning before at our hotel. Very convenient. Be advised, the express passes usually seem to sell out very quickly. If you can buy them 24 hours in advance that is great. The express passes are worth the added expense since the park gets so full every day.

The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan(R)

"Rooms Are Not Fancy But Decent. Close to Universal"
There were not many reviews (in English) about this hotel anywhere to be found. So we took a chance by booking it. The Park Front Universal is a new hotel. It is the closest hotel to Universal... literally a 2 minute walk across the street. It's right in front of the park! From the outside the Park Front looks cool. It's in the art deco style. The lobby looks cool, too. And the elevators have funny twirling old-style watch-looking hands that are fun (a similar thing in the elevator). There is a Wolfgang Puck pizza restaurant in the hotel as well as a 7-11 type convenience store. We didn't eat at the hotel though. The Universal street is right outside the hotel and it has Bubba Gump's, Hard Rock, Friday's, and other chain restaurants, with loud music outside and lots of lights on that mini pedestrian street. At the end of that street is the subway entrance with people continually arriving for Universal. The rooms were comfortable enough. Not fancy at all. Certainly not close to 5 star. If anything, the rooms are sparse. Beds were ok. Pillows ok too (2 kinds). Curtains were dark enough. The closets were small and didn't have doors. The wood floor at the entrance area of the rooms seemed a bit cheap. The shower was a bit odd, you stand on the floor, basically, and the tub is right next to it - no shower curtain. There is a little stool on the floor, too. I guess it's Japanese style. I was not crazy about that. The toilet has lots of buttons of course. The tvs have zero English

Terrace House Bentencho

"Convenient Place, Strange Check-in"
The guesthouse was very modern and clean. It was also fairly convenient to Bentencho station, as long as it is not in the heat of summer, as it is about a 10 - 15 minute walk. The check-in was strange. We had to check our email when we arrived to see the codes to get into the hotel and get our keys. Thank goodness we actually had a pocket wi-fi with us! There were guests who did not have email access and arrived very late at the hotel. They had no idea how to get in, so they buzzed all of the rooms at 2am, trying to get in. I was awakened in the night twice by guests who couldn`t get in. Had the owner of the guesthouse given people the information a few days before, it would have been so much better. It shouldn`t be assumed that guests have access to email at all times. There is only one room to wash your face, do your hair/make-up, and take a bath. With 4 rooms, it is possible that you are sharing this one bathroom with up to 16 guests. There were no mirrors in the guestrooms, so we had to wait a long time to access a sink or mirror, as there were guests who were in the bathroom for up to 30 min at a time. It wasn`t convenient at all. Even when I just wanted to brush my teeth or wash my hands, it seemed that the bathroom was being used.

This area draws both domestic and international travelers with its modern attractions and Oceanside scenery. Universal Studios Japan is located here, as is the Kaiyukan Aquarium, which houses 580 species of sea life, including two whale sharks. Both families and couples come to see the views from a 112 meter high ferris wheel and the 55th floor observatory of the World Trade Center Cosmo Tower.
