Nice hotel, awesome view, convenient to both subway and JR lines. Only a short trip to Universal Studios BUT bathroom dirty. I called the desk and they sent up someine from reception who looked and didnt seem to understand what the problem was, i then scratched off the build-up of soap scum with my nail and she apologised and sent house keeping who went in and wiped the bath out, then asked if it was OK, NO! And again i scraped away more of the dirt, she then proceeded to clean the tub. The remainder of the bathroom could have used a good clean too with soap-scum build up on the walls too.
We arrived before check-in, but they began the check-in process and took our bags. When we came back to get our keys there were no lines and it took less than 5 minutes. We had a corner room that was really nice and complimentary water. They don't offer early entry to the park for being a hotel guest, which was disappointing.
The guesthouse was very modern and clean. It was also fairly convenient to Bentencho station, as long as it is not in the heat of summer, as it is about a 10 - 15 minute walk.
The check-in was strange. We had to check our email when we arrived to see the codes to get into the hotel and get our keys. Thank goodness we actually had a pocket wi-fi with us! There were guests who did not have email access and arrived very late at the hotel. They had no idea how to get in, so they buzzed all of the rooms at 2am, trying to get in. I was awakened in the night twice by guests who couldn`t get in. Had the owner of the guesthouse given people the information a few days before, it would have been so much better. It shouldn`t be assumed that guests have access to email at all times.
There is only one room to wash your face, do your hair/make-up, and take a bath. With 4 rooms, it is possible that you are sharing this one bathroom with up to 16 guests. There were no mirrors in the guestrooms, so we had to wait a long time to access a sink or mirror, as there were guests who were in the bathroom for up to 30 min at a time. It wasn`t convenient at all. Even when I just wanted to brush my teeth or wash my hands, it seemed that the bathroom was being used.
my family, husband and daughter had a pleasant stay...hotel staff are courteous and helpful, hotel is a very convenient walking distance (barely 5 minutes) to the entrance of Universal Studios...room is clean and comfy and very much worth the price (compare to where we stayed in Tokyo)
This area draws both domestic and international travelers with its modern attractions and Oceanside scenery. Universal Studios Japan is located here, as is the Kaiyukan Aquarium, which houses 580 species of sea life, including two whale sharks. Both families and couples come to see the views from a 112 meter high ferris wheel and the 55th floor observatory of the World Trade Center Cosmo Tower.
