Dolphin hotel decor still in the 70s
date of visit : 2nd Aug to 9th Aug 2016 - on the outside it looks the bees knees. however you experience the reality as you walk the corridors to your room. the 1st thing you experience on opening the room door is the damp and the poor quality of air conditioning. Even the decor of the bathroom and sink area is '80s. Concierge , staff and pool area are very good and do listen to customer complaints, however action turnaround time is poor. on the 1st night we didn't have a roll away bed - despite 2 email requests stating we needed one. On the night rang concierge saying, "wheres the bed"?. assured me it be delivered in 30 mins, by 1230 am gave up and rang them saying dont bother as we need to sleep due to children. as the days passed , sink, and bath hole blockages, although were fixed the next day on request. I heard quite a few customers at concierge complaining of toilet blockages , which is the last thing you want on holiday. The dolphin is currently going through a whole decor /renovation overhaul, and it wont be completed til at least mid 2018. Im not sure about the adjacent Swan hotel, but my advice dont stay at the dolphin til at least 2018.
