With a official Disney Hotel, you pay for convenience. And this had that. Round the clock transportation to all the parks including a ferry to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
On the downside, it's pretty run down for a $350/night hotel. The carpet in the halls is worn and wrinkled enough it was easy to trip on. Also, there was construction going on outside my room, which they didn't bother to tell me until I checked in. Not only did I not have access to my balcony, I basically couldn't have the drapes open as there were workers on scaffolding the whole time.
Another not-so-nice surprise was the price of parking; $37/night for self park. $44/night for valet. What's the difference at that point. That, plus a $40/night "resort" fee. I had pre-paid for my rooms but had a $500 tab for a 5-night stay.
The pool area is very nice. And they have free swan paddleboats, if you're into that. But everything is "Disney-priced" which you just need to be prepared for.
Stayed at the original Disneyland Hotel in Aneheim in January of last year and it was pretty run down, too. Not sure I'll pay the extra to be on property again. The nicer looking places are $500 /night and that's out of my tax bracket.
But don't dismiss the early park entry. You get in the park 30 minutes early which can honestly get you two rides before rope drop. And that helps a lot during busy times.
