Mystic Dunes was impressive upon arrival and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check in early. Our 1 bedroom was fully renovated. The only negative was that there was no balcony outside the slider—just a gate across the door to nowhere. The pools were well maintained. There were activities like tennis, pickleball, basketball, mini golf and biking all included. The equipment was well worn and bikes were rusted. There is a large Walmart a couple Miles up the road for supplies. The area is very congested with traffic.

The unicorn took a poop. I stayed at this property in celebration of my child's 17th birthday. We are locals and to be completely honest my family loves this resort anf have been visiting for over a decade for family gatherings. Its not always the most affordable option and initially based on cost alone, I was going to opt for another property.BUT this resort is hands down my and my son's favorite...normally. Our first night was immaculate. The unit assigned was SO CLEAN...that i was in heaven and had no qualms about staying in all night. While on this stay, my business flight was changed to a later departure. I asked the property via text if we could be extended a late checkout due to this and received no text reply...i thought it was odd but figured they would respond when able. I requested extra towels for my family and received a confirmation text so I sent another request for late checkout through expedia. I am well aware that complimentary late out is simply a request...but is an acknowledgement to receipt of a question a request as well? Enter manager Lori- she became my service rep while there. 6am on morn of checkout, I decided to do a load of clothes so my family would not have mildewed clothing upon arrival to our next destination. It wasnt pulling enough energy. I panicked because my scheduled airport transportation was due to pick me up in a few hours from home and i had soaking wet clothes. I text Lori and she denied late checkout and offered 1030..after I left.
