Cheap hotel close to Universal Studios
The hotel is a bit dingy. The beds were pretty hard, the pillows were downright terrible, everything in the room was generally worn down, and they only gave us one full-sized towel for two people. But the room was spacious, quiet, and had a microwave and mini-fridge. If you're going to spend all day at the theme parks anyway, and you remember you get what you pay for, it's not that bad of a hotel, and I'd recommend if for some place cheap to sleep. The free shuttle to Disney has multiple time options, but it is a long ride since it has to stop at so many places. The free shuttle to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures only has one time option in each direction, and it wouldn't give you enough time at the parks, but luckily they are within a 20 minute walk and easy to get to. There is a 24 hour Walgreens at the corner, and right next door, connected to the hotel, is a restaurant with a cheap breakfast buffet. There are also a bunch of shops in walking distance. The pool was fine as well.
