Great location

Posted 27-Jul-2016
Pros: The pool was nice
Cons: Pretty much everything
Location: shops, restaurants, wet and wild, universal
I would not stay at this MOTEL ever again! Check in is way too late 4pm come on! When we finally got into the ac would not come on but finally did. The toilets would not flush they had someone come up a plunge it 2x but the whole trip we had to use the bathrooms down stairs. It was not pool view like I requested it was parking lot view. The only good thing about this place is the location. Not to mention $8 for a beer.

Close to attractions

Posted 27-Jul-2016
This hotel is nothing like the internet. The only thing nice about the Palms is the hotel lobby.. The elevator was being serviced, the hotel carpet was filthy, the room air conditioner was on high and never got cold. The water in the sink and tub did not drain properly. Overall i woul not stay here again. Dissatisfied.

Not worth your money.

Very old, and wore down. And kind of smelly. One day room service didn't go into our room to clean. Only good thing it that it was near everything.

Telephone has no dial tone, safety box has just the box/case. The sink is clogged,so slow to drain and when we called to complain, they sent a technician who just said that there's nothing to be done for now, will just place record/note of the complain. The hotel is not clean.

Disappointing!

Posted 24-Jul-2016
Pros: The pool, and the place is very nice.
Cons: Many things! The cleaning!
Location: Very good!
My experience was not very good. I was trouble with the tv. and the keys. My little grandkid 5, pressed the remote for only 1 minute, they charged me $20.00, I found my door open and the lacker was not working. They took more than 2 hours solving the situation!

Good location

Posted 23-Jul-2016
Staff was nice, location was good but housekeeping not very good. The room was worn, for example leaking valves in shower, safe not working right, stuff like that. Pool area was nice.

Pretty disappointing but not gruesome

Posted 22-Jul-2016
This facility is really run down, with really old everything. However the linens are clean and the pool area is nice and we really enjoyed the family vibe there (as well as the cocktails in the poolside bar!). All the staff was friendly and helpful, but there are lots of issues like problems with the door locks (they get stuck), the paint is peeling in the bathroom, and the wi-fi is almost non-existent.

Good hotel for Universal Studios

Posted 20-Jul-2016
Pros: It is well situated for Universal studios, plenty of places to eat nearby and other places of interest within walking distance.
Cons: Lifts are SO slow, but the tower does have 14 floors. Rooms with inter-connecting doors are noisy, more soundproofing. Needs re-decoration.
Location: Hotel is easy to get to from the airport if you hire a car. Loads of tourist attractions on it (if you have the energy after a day at the Parks!)
Hotel is situated on International Drive, near the soon to close Wet n Wild water park. It is possible to walk from there to Universal Studios thus saving the daily car park fees that you have to pay on top of the Park tickets. It is also good for catching the tourist tram that runs up and down the drive. There are plenty of places nearby to eat. If you hire a car, Disney is easily reached on the Interstate, or book on one of the regular coaches from the hotel. We stay in the tower rather than the main hotel. The lifts take forever so if you are feeling fit take the stairs. The rooms are large and have a coffee maker, fridge, microwave and large TV. The ones at the back overlook the Interstate which never stops so you do get traffic noise even on the top floors. The pool is a decent size with various depths and there is an outdoor jacuzzi, towels are supplied, but you do pay for this via the 'resort fee'. The hotel overall needs some TLC, it looks a bit dated and tired, but it is well placed, comfortable and a decent price.
