nice hotel

Overall we had a great stay. Hotel and room was clean and the staff was accommodating. The only cons were the tiki bar by the pool closing too early and having to pay $12/day for parking. Though I knew of this fee ahead of time, it still angered me to pay to park after we already paid to stay at the hotel.

Very disappointing

Pros: Staff was ok very helpful
first room was not what I ask the extra beds makes a lot of NOISE you could not even move because you will wake up every one in the room, second all around hotel was very dirty and the pool OMG nasty pool you see buggers all around nastiest pool.

Pros: it was clean and quiet
Location: easy to drive to restaurants
the whole family enjoyed the vacation which was near the hotel

simply disappointed!

Pros: Accomodations and cleanliness were good.
Cons: Reimbursement policies, regardless who you book through needs to change.
Location: Good location, with lots to do around the hotel.
Although Crown Plaza Hotel is quite clean and contemporary, we had a stroke of bad luck when on the 2nd day of our 4 day vacation, the hotel's air conditioning stopped working. At first, they told us it would only be a few hours of discomfort, when it actually turned out to be almost 2 days worth. When I asked what type of reimbursement they were giving to the patrons, they said since I had booked through a 3rd party (expedia), there was not much they could do for us. I pleaded my case telling them they were still getting their money, and more importantly, my girlfriend suffers from Asthma, they tried to console me by telling me we can spend a few hours by the lobby, or by the pool. Both areas were very hot, and when I told them my girlfriend was now having breathing problems, is when they offered us a dinner voucher at a nearby restaurant, and that they would call us when the problem was fixed. After spending a couple of hours at the restaurant, they called telling us they fixed the problem. Needless to say, it was very disappointing.

Should be a 2 star Hotel

Pros: The only thing I liked about this Hotel was gym. It wasn't big, but it was adequate.
Cons: This place needs new management and employees. When your in hospitality, you need to be accommodating to your guests.
Location: Location was fine. It's Orlando. Everything you need is a short ride away. Nothing within walking distance of this Hotel.
From the start, our stay was less than "warm and cozy". Reserved a room with a king sized bed, but said they only had standard rooms with double beds available. Not a big deal, but definitely not starting out good. To top it off, they put us in a handicap room. Okay, again, not a big deal, but not what I ordered. My fiance' likes to take baths when we're on vacation but if you know anything about handicap rooms, there is no tub. The room had an unpleasant odor which made it difficult to sleep, and the air conditioning system did not work properly. We had to set the thermostat to 60 to get the temperature in the room to 68. Weird. I don't like writing reviews like this, so here's my list of reasons not to stay at this hotel: 1.) Staff was EXTREMELY unfriendly and unaccommodating. 2.) Food was horrible and overpriced. 3.) Shuttles to parks were not convenient at all. Free, yes, but not convenient. 4.) They CHARGE you more than Starbucks for a cup of coffee. The point here, they CHARGE for coffee. I've never stayed in a Hotel that charged it's guests for coffee. 5.) Internet was horrible. Kept dropping. 6.) Rooms were not clean. Literally, the maids emptied the trash and made the beds. That's it. 7.) Noisy rooms. Could hear everything in the hallways and rooms next to ours. 8.) We knew more about what was happening at the Parks than the Concierge. He tried to sell us things we couldn't use. No more room. I ran out of characters, but I have more to say!

Fictitious 5-star hotel

They say that first impressions are lasting the rude staff person named Kim who checked us in had, shall we say, had "an attitude of superiority". She then neglected to advise us how to get to our room and neglected to offer any staff assistance with several bags we had with us, nor did she offer a luggage cart. It was only after I inquired about these things service was provided. The hotel also was supposed to have free Wi-Fi however the Wi-Fi was on an unsecured Network. When I brought this to a staff person's attention name Charlotte she was unable to resolve the problem. She did say they would reboot the servers and agreed to call me in our room once the problem was resolved. However I received no such call and also noticed after looking at my phone later in the evening that against my wishes after I showed her my phone she connected me 2 and unsecured Wi-Fi at the hotel. Upon noticing this I obviously disconnected my Wi-Fi connection. I would never stay at this hotel again with all the many other choices in the Orlando area this was a very fictitious "5 star hotel".

Crowne Plaza is a quality chain of hotels

Cons: parking, $12 a day is a little high. possibly a free continental breakfast or a reduced rate for those staying multiple nights.
Location: Very close to Universal Studios (a few miles away) Disneyworld is like a 15-20 minute drive. Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and other places close by.
Very comfortable, quiet hotel. Even though we were directly over the entrance to the hotel we never heard any noise and had a nice view of the Orlando eye nearby. Beds were super comfortable, room was bigger than expected and had plenty of room to move around between both beds, the desk, the chairs, and the dresser with the TV. Nicely sized bathroom and the shower/tub even had a clothes line that pulled out so we could hang up our wet suits and items. Top notch hotel. Very nice pool and hot tub. Never ate at the hotel restaurants or paid the $17 fee for breakfast. Overall a very pleasant stay.
