The Fig Tree Villa is situated in La Chismosa, an area close to Playa Flamenca and La Florida just south of Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca, Spain on a quiet private gated complex. The villa is part of a quad of houses but remains private and secluded. It has a private pool, two bedrooms, one on the ground floor with twin beds and a King size in the master bedroom upstairs. It has a spacious lounge which is open to the fully fitted kitchen at one end.The house is ideal for a relaxing holiday rental. It is not suitable for a noisy, lively stay and we therefore do not accept same sex young guests.We have a number of permenant residents on the complex and ask that you consider this whilst enjoying your stay. We may be able to accommodate one or two additional children on request. A separate dining room leads to the garden and has the stairs up to the second bedroom and en-suite plus the balcony/terrace. . The first bedroom on the ground floor is off the Lounge and adjacent to the bathroom which is in a wet room style and has a shower, sink and WC but no bath. The kitchen has all facilities including a microwave and a small dishwasher.The washing machine is situated seperately in the Utility Room. Drying is via a portable clothes airer. As the Villa is situated on a gated complex car parking is on the adjacent street, moments away and plentiful. This Villa is in an ideal location for rest and relaxation, but if lounging and dipping in the private pool is not your holiday thing there is still plenty for you to do. Jump in the car and find one of the many blue flag beaches along the Costa Blanca coast, the nearest is 5 minutes by car. Play a round of golf on the Villa Martin course, also 5 minutes away by car, or maybe visit the bustling town of Torrevieja. The renown Zenia Boulevard with shops and restaurants and a huge Alcampo Supermarket is only 5 minutes by car. Torrevieja town has plenty of shops, seafront bars and restaurants, a Marina and street markets where you are sure to find a bargain. From Torrevieja you can take various boat trips which we can recommend, in fact the Villa has a large folder with all sorts of local information and recommendations from local restaurants to theme parks to coach trips to make your perfect rental holiday. Airconditioning is available in both bedrooms and the lounge/kitchen area. This is via a coin meter ( to cover the electricity cost only at the rate we are charged ) The pool is not heated. As we operate touristic accommodation we are required by Spanish law to supply the Guardia Civil with the personal data of each of our paying holiday rental guests over the age of 16 years within 24 hours after their arrival. To this end we will send you a link after booking confirmation to Check In Scan which allows a quick scan of ID documentation and guest signature. We will also forward access to our Guidebook for Fig Tree Villa which gives you more useful information about the house and the local area. This email will come from us a Villas and Retreats and can sometimes end up in the spam folder. FIG TREE FAQ Are there sunloungers? Four are provided around the pool area although not shown in the pictures. Can we walk to bars and restaurants? 5/10 minutes will find the The Banana Tree Thai, Concierto Cafeteria, Pablos International and Clarkes Bar and in the opposite direction Horatios Restaurant, Caferteria Las Chismosas and the Wan Yuan Chinese. How far is Zenia Boulevard? 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes walking. How far is the Playa Flamenca Saturday market? Just beyond Clarkes Bar, a 6/7 minute walk. How far is the nearest beach? Cala Mosca is 8 mins by car or a 30 mins walk. Local bus service? The nearest stop is 2 mins walk and takes you close to the beach and has links to Torrevieja. Taxi? Plentiful, book able by phone and approx 8 Euro to Zenia Boulevard. Airports? Murcia is closest at 30 mins away. Alicante a little further at 45 mins. Transfers available if required. Cleaning fee / Damage deposit? We do not charge a cleaning or linen fee. ( Bedding and house towels are provided ) We hope guests treat our house with respect and therefore do not ask for a damage deposit. Airconditioning? Three units. One in each bedroom and one in the Lounge. Operated independently via a coin meter which takes one and two Euro coins. Charged at the same rate we pay the provider it was installed to encourage sensible use. On average most guests use 6/8 Euro in a week. Checking and Departure? We ask that check in is after 3pm and departure by 10am. Contact with Mark the Villa owner from first booking throughout was great with information supplied, as was the information in the Villa regarding local Bar & Restaurant locations etc. Marcela the house keeper was always contactable to help when required, and did us a big favour contacting a Doctor to visit the Villa for us. Will hopefully return in a year or 2 and highly recommend for anyone looking for a Villa with Private Pool and close to a row of Bars/Restaurants and the weekly Playa Flamenca market. Pool great, garden lovely, 2 walk in showers, air con downstairs and in the bedrooms. Just have to put some euros in a meter in the kitchen. Quiet at night to sleep, no noisy neighbours. We had a car, nothing more than ten mins drive, unless you want to venture out further. La Zenia Boulevard shopping centre is 5 mins away. Loads of good shops, places to eat, great place for a few hours. Villa martin Plaza is 7 mins away, good choice of restaurants there. Not much to walk to, only a small selection of a few bars and a couple of restaurants. But we went to Cafe Concierto, which does everything and a few mins walk. Such good value for money. But we spent most of our time at the Villa in the pool and done a few barbecues and went out also. Loved it. Relaxing and weather was perfect. Lovely lovely villa. ##### karen H. It was comfortable and cosy with good facilities. Mark and Marcella were supportive and accommodating, the information provided was fantastic, the welcome pack covered everything and more. The host was generous, leaving drinks and essentials to cater for all your needs, there was a local shop and restaurants that were walking distance but unfortunately there were some negative aspects; the bed was very uncomfortable and unsuitable bedding especially if the air con didn’t work at times in the master bedroom. There was an unpleasant smell often in the downstairs toilet. What disappointment us the most was the freezing cold pool as we are use to paying for a heated pool as a result we didn’t use it much.😕 ##### Dionne C. We had a great stay at The Fig Tree. Mark was a pleasure to deal with and was very understanding & accommodating with our various cancellations from last year due to Covid. The villa was in a very peaceful little complex and got the sun all day. We did not hire a car but there was a local Spanish supermarket 10 mins walk, a well stocked Dialprix 20 mins away and a huge Alcampo supermarket about a 20 mins walk to La Zenia shopping complex. The villa has a shopping trolley which we found very handy. There was a commercial centre with many bars & restaurants about another 25 mins walk but one of our favourite restaurants was the The Banana Tree II Thai which is only 10 mins away. This was our first visit to the area but it will definitely not be our last and we would not hesitate to book The Fig Tree again. Thank you Mark. Expect to hear from us again. When we arrived at the Fig Tree Villa we were not disappointed. It really is just how it is described and more. The gardens are well maintained and the pool a real bonus. The villa itself was beautiful, it really ticked all our boxes. Our first week, the temperatures were extremely high and the air conditioning really cooled us all down. The kitchen is well stocked so we ate in some days and out on others. The bathrooms are both well equipped for all needs. The use of the washing machine really helped and Mark put up a line to help with the drying. On our second week, Mark took us to a supermarket and also to a chemist (as one of our daughters developed a rash). He really is such a gentleman and will go the extra mile to make your stay even better. Normally after 14 days holidays, we are all itching to go home but we all felt very sad leaving. Mark took us back to the airport. If we were to sum up Fig Tree Villa in three words, they would be "relaxing", "magical" and "satisfying". If you want a truly wonderful holiday - you must come and stay at Fig Tree Villa - you will not be disappointed. Beautiful property with pool the children loved. Close promity, by car to good resturants, beaches and other activities to entertain the children. Mark was attentive and helpful throughout our visit. Mark was exceptional, such a helpful lovely chap, helped take my son to the local chemist for sunburn. Concierto was brilliant, lovely food (book for a Sunday roast) and only 5 minutes away. I would avoid the steakhouse over the bridge, over priced and poor quality food. My advice is to stock up at Al Campo, get the beers in and enjoy From the Gardner family ##### Simon G. Mark was very helpful on arrival with information regarding the property and location. The house was very clean and has everything you need so really easy to settle in. It had such a welcoming homely feel. I genuinely could not pick fault with any part of our stay. My husband, 5 year old and myself loved our stay. The owner Mark could not have been anymore helpful. Mark was actually back in England when we arrived however was still helping us with airport transfers and his family member also showed us around the beautiful villa. We felt the Villa had a perfect location, it was quiet enough if you wanted lazy days by the pool but still had a shop and a few bars just minutes away, we loved eating at Cafeteria Concierto. We walked to La Zenia Boulevard which took a leisurely 20mins or so however there are taxi's available and at reasonable prices. We would be looking to come back to this Villa if and when we returned to the area as we loved it & Mark made everything easy & stress free. Thank you Mark, from the McCorriston's. ##### Michelle M. Mark was very kind and accomodating when we needed him. Provided some essentials, including a bottle of wine, for when you arrive. Rightly or wrongly, we had the impression the Villa was closer to the beach / sea front. We appreciate that Mark would have provided transport from and back to Alicante airport. We had hired a car so didn’t take him up on his kind offer. We found locating the Villa a major problem even though we had a GPS in the car. This was not Mark’s fault but due to the identification of addresses used in Orihuela (we are both nearly 70 and that may have contributed to it also). ##### Edward S. Séjour de 7 nuits en juin 2019
