This 1 bedroom apartment is simply great! It makes you feel totally at home and comfortable. The large living room has plenty of seating and a dining area for 4. You can sit back and enjoy the UK satellite television at night and just relax. The large American style kitchen is fully fitted to service any catering requirements you may have. It has a huge family bathroom and the double bedroom has a built-in wardrobe. The apartment is located on the outside of the plaza with views over the 1st hole of the Villamartin Golf Course, so no noise!!! You can enjoy morning coffee as the sun rises or a romantic glass of vino before you set off downstairs to one of the many restaurants or bars on the Villamartin Plaza. The location is perfect though with all forms of entertainment below and over 40 restaurants and bars to choose from so no need for a car, everything is on your doorstep!

Nearby there are many championship golf courses to choose from, the largest shopping mall in Europe, numerous Blue Flag Beaches to choose from, markets galore and all within a few minutes drive or even walk-able and of course the Villamartin Plaza with over 40 restaurants and bars to choose from, location location location!!!!

For visitors heading to the southern Costa Blanca in Spain, there are many attractions to take in. From the wonderful sights and smells of the orange and lemon groves that line the roads, history of the region offers to the wonderful year round temperatures, the Orihuela Costa has so much going for it. Villamartin Plaza is located in the heart of this wonderful area ensuring its visitors a perfect time during both day and at night. When it comes to relaxing under the warming sun during the day or enjoying a meal under the stars, Villamartin Plaza is the place to be. Villamartin Plaza is a one of a kind! Residential homes overlook into the beautiful palm lined central area to the restaurants and bars below. Villamartin is fast becoming one of the most prestigious golf courses in Spain, with all of the amenities you would expect from a development of this standard. Added to which the climate is wonderful, the beaches are un-crowded and there are a number of lively towns within a close proximity.

Close to Villamarting are numerous beaches with magnificent views over the sparkling blue Mediterranean and the "white sand" that is typical of the Costa Blanca. The beaches along the coastline close to Villamartin are Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Campoamor.

Tired appartment/good location
The appartment is very tired and is in quite poor condition which is a shame because it could be really nice. Its up two flights of stairs and there is no lift. The balcony is in a nice position and overlooks the golf course. There isn't any air conditioning and the free standing fans were thick with dust so didn't really want to use even though it was really warm that weekend and humid at night. The flooring in the kitchen area is in poor condition and has a large patch which is just concrete. The apartment was not clean; cobwebs on the walls, crumbs on the kitchen tops and the bed cover had a nasty stain on it. We did point the lack of cleanliness out to the property manager but he didn't seem at all concerned and certainly didn't offer to sort it out. The welcome pack didn't live up to expectations either with very cheap products and some things like the coffee sachets looked old. Only real bonus was the bed was comfortable.

Long weekend in Villamartin.
We arrived at the property and was met by Graham with the keys etc, he was very helpful & showed us where things were. The property was on the top floor and looked out onto the lovely golf course. It is a basic apartment but could do with a bit of a refurb & a deep clean. The price was right for the property but I think the extra money for cleaning is taking the mick.

APARTMENT NEEDS UPDATING
When we arrived the apartment was not clean, especially the kitchen. The kitchen equipment and appliances could not be used until we had spent a good few hours cleaning. The extractor fan was filthy as was the mop and bucket, dustpan and frying pans. The mop bucket leaked and the electric hotplates on the cooker were all rusty and corroded. They could not be used. The microwave had to be cleaned and the toaster was all rusty, as well as being full of old breadcrumbs. The first cups I took out of the cupboard were chipped and had a broken handle. The freezer had to be defrosted. The tap on the kitchen sink was very wobbly and needs replacing. The trim on the back of the kitchen worktop had gaps in it plugged with tissue. Having to do all this cleaning was not a good start to the holiday. After all this cleaning I went for a shower only to find that the hot tap came off in my hand and had I not jumped out of the way quickly would have been burnt. The local agent did send a plumber to replace the tap the next day. There are 4 chairs at the dining room table. 2 are broken and unsafe to sit on. There is 1 bar stool for the breakfast bar. Not very sociable unless only 1 person is staying in this apartment. The apartment is advertised as having a balcony, which it does and has a lovely view overlooking the golf course. It`s just a pity it cannot be used. The cooking smells from the restaurants below are overpowering. In a morning it is a very greasy smell from the fry ups being cooked and in the evening it is curry and garlic. Also there are just 2 small wooden chairs on the balcony which are not comfortable at all. The curry and garlic smells are also in the bathroom. If you leave the bathroom window open you can hear the music from the Plaza which some nights only finished at 3am. The hem on the curtains in the lounge is hanging down and badly stained. There is a communal pool at this complex but we could not use it because there are no chairs or loungers there, and none provided in the apartment to take down there. A Added to all this the apartment next door but one was being renovated all the time we were there (2 weeks) so it was rather noisy from the workmen. The only good point about this apartment is that it had a comfy bed. The apartment is in dire need of updating and all the furnishings etc, kitchen appliances and equipment need replacing. This is without doubt the worst apartment we have ever stayed in.

A Nice Break....but not for us
It was a nice break. We chose to do something different. We enjoyed it but we wouldn't stay there again. The price for the stay was good and we made the most of what we had but it wasn't the best we have rented. We knew it was part a golf complex and though we don't play golf we were interested in staying to view the surrounding areas/villages which we loved, and would stay at. The public transport was only a mini bus and you couldn't rely on them PLUS if the bus was full you could not get on. They are cheap if you can get on ie; 1.35 euros each. There is also a taxi rank and we made good use of that, also cheap, and cost us about 6/7 euros into La Zenia one way. You can also walk which we did a number of times. It takes about 40 mins from the Plaza to La Zenia Boulevard. The reasons we wouldn't stay at the Plaza again are because there were no sunbeds provided around the swimming pool so it didn't give any incentive to stay around there in the day. The apartment itself was ok. I suppose you get what you pay for. I don't want to put anyone off considering staying but it could do with a little paint up, and a few jobs carrying out as it is a little tired. For example, it could do with a new hob on the cooker as the current one is rusty so not inviting to cook on. The tile trim in the kitchen had corners missing that were stuffed with kitchen towel. The kitchen itself was very tired. The bathroom could do with a good paint up and good scrub out, plus there is a shaver socket in the bathroom that could do with replacing as it is broken, The windows at the apartment could do with a good clean. The patio chairs on the balcony are very uncomfortable to sit on so you couldn't spend a few hours sat there. The lights on both balcony's don't work. Also, there was a cassette player rather than a cd player which we thought was now outdated as very few people have cassettes these days. However, the bed was very comfortable and we did sleep well so that is an important factor people look for. Please note there is no wi-fi at the apartment and there is supposed to be wi-fi in the Plaza which is why the owner hasn't got it installed but please note the signal is very poor so most of the time we could not get connected. We enjoyed the entertainment in the Plaza at night when we wanted to spend time there but be aware as you can hear the music from the Plaza in the apartment until all hours. We don't mind noise but anyone who is a light sleeper might not like it.

Loved our stay at this apartment, had a lovely time in Villamartin and were lucky to see Leo Sayer and his band performing live and free in the Plaza during our stay. We will certainly be back next year.

Great location
Property is in a great location, plenty of bars and restaurants, can only imagine the buz of Villamartin Plaza when in full swing. La Zenia Boulevard is within walking distance, worth a visit but take a few quid! Transfer from Murcia airport is roughly half an hour and cost 40 euros. Overall a great experience and I would like to extend my thanks to Casey and Graham for making it a stress free break.
