The on site manager was very kind and friendly. However, we arrived at 7 pm (after traveling across the state), and the check in office was already closed. We had to stand in the windy cold and wait for anyone to answer the door.
Our room was below mediocre. There were about a dozen light switches all over our room that weren't labeled, and half of them didn't do what we expected they were supposed to do. There was a cute electric fireplace in the room that didn't even work. One of the pillows that was on the bed had a dirty pillowcase, and the dirt got all over the sheet because we didn't see it was dirty. The bed didn't have a real blanket, just 2 top sheets and a thin throw blanket. The walls and baseboards were severely chipped and damaged. The tile by the entrance/bathroom area had huge chunks missing. There were even cobwebs all over the room.
The free breakfast was disappointing. They had frozen egos, cereal, packaged mini muffins, and oranges. The coffee tasted like water, and they didn't have lids for the to-go cups.
The only thing that made the stay worth it was the view.
I'm not extremely picky. I choose price over luxury because our vacations are about the experiences, not the fancy hotel we stay in. I've stayed in some pretty low quality hotels, but this one left me unsatisfied. I've stayed at Travelodge locations all over the state, and this one was the worst. I've never been disappointed with Travelodge until now.
