Sleeps 3. This property, built in 2019, sits high on a hill and has stunning, unobstructed views of the Alsea Bay, the Alsea Bay bridge, the town of Waldport and the Pacific Ocean. The unit is a beautiful, spacious (1000 square feet) one bedroom townhouse. The main part of the house is occupied by the owners. The townhouse is remarkably relaxing, with spacious, carefully decorated rooms, each with views. The bedroom has a California king bed and an additional small bed in the bedroom in a charming alcove. The townhouse has its own one car garage and a deck with a BBQ. The home is just north of the Alsea Bay, on a dead end private road. It is part of a small subdivision (6 lots), with each lot sitting on 2 acres of land. Very private. Beach access is just a 5 minute drive. All Oregon beaches are public, and beach access is required by law every two miles. Visitors can also walk easily to and over the bridge. It's a one mile walk from the townhouse to the town of Waldport. The Oregon coast is an international vacation destination spot. The bay and the ocean offer a multitude of outdoor activities. You can... • explore the tide pools. • go beach combing, any time on any Oregon beach. • rent a small boat and go crabbing in the bay. • kayak on the bay or at Beaver Creek. • fish in the surf for ocean perch. • in season, fish for salmon in the bay or the Alsea River. • go clamming for bay clams or, in season, for razor clams. • watch for whales as they migrate in spring and fall. • while on the beach, watch for seals, and many sea birds. • in bad weather, enjoy winter storms from the warmth of the apartment. The area also offers many other activities. You can... • enjoy one of many hiking trails in the area. • ride fat tire bikes on the beach in Newport. • golf in Waldport at the 9 hole Crestview Golf course. • visit the excellent Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. • check out nearby wineries and breweries. • ride dune buggies in Florence. • dine and shop in Waldport, Newport or Yachats. Waldport, a 3 minute drive or a 15 minute walk from the apartment, is a small town (population 2,000) with all the essentials...a grocery store, a drug store, a hardware store, and several small restaurants. It is 15 miles south of Newport (population 10,000) and 15 miles north of Yachats (population 700). All three towns are popular tourist destinations. Because the home is on a dead end street we do have exterior security cameras. The unit is non-smoking, and we're sorry, but we can't allow pets. Very happy we came to Oregon Coast and stayed at Puma Point. It was exceptionally awesome. The condo is exactly as listed in its description. My husband and I were looking for a relaxing, peaceful home that we could enjoy time spent discovering the Oregon coast and we found it at Puma point (Waldsport, OR). The condo has speculator views (as seen on website), its own garage, and was well stock for cooking and enjoying peaceful evenings at home while also being in central location within 15 min close to small market and variety of good restaurants within 10-30 min from house if you chose to eat out. The host/hostess were awesome as well as gracious in their hospitality and well knowledgeable about where to go/see. They were accessible to ask questions about particular area. They even have their own webpage for helping you to sort through details on restaurants, sightseeing, hiking and shopping sorted by location in central coast. It was like having a concierge on-site! This is a special place on the Oregon coast. It is one of our favorites. Great central location to explore the coast. Governor Patterson beach is very close. This is an easily accessible beach with no steep climb or steps. This beach is personaly our favorite beach on the coast and we have visited many. Puma Point provides a beautiful view of the Pacific, Patterson beach, Alsea Bay and Alsea bridge. There is a small private deck off with seating and a bbq grill. Love watching the seals sunning themselves at low tide on the sand bars near the bridge. The condo is lovely and well stocked with all kitchen and other needs. A plus is that you have access to your own one car garage. Kathleen and Gary are gracious hosts that make the stay even better. Will definitely return for future stays. ##### Jackie C. The main house is set back on a private hill overlooking the bay on one side and out to the ocean on the other-- the views are just stunning and we could see the seals on the banks of the bay. The inside of the condo is spacious, perfectly clean and it has everything you need to feel right at home, plus all the things you need to cook meals while you stay (which is nice when you have a longer stay so you don't have to eat out all the time). We’re a senior couple, rent VRBOs several times per year. Puma Point sets a very high bar for other rentals. It’s almost hard to believe that they share this space, rather than reserving for friends and family. All finishes and furnishings are top notch and comfortable. We slept better here than we do at home. If you’ve been somewhat discouraged by how little is provided by hosts and/or property management companies these days, you’ll find Puma Point is the polar opposite. This rental is perfect in every way for myself and my friends that I invite to come with me. The hosts, Gary and Kathleen, excel in making guests comfortable, secure, safe, and with luxury amenities. They are helpful with suggestions for exploring Waldport and elsewhere north and south, east and west of this wonderful central coast area which fortunately has been able to maintain its rural feel. There is so much to do here: good dining, local artisan shopping, beachcombing, hiking, local arts venues for plays, musicals. Also craft and farmers markets.
