Let me begin with one very important note: upon our arrival the staff were warm, welcoming and professional. They treated us well, got us our room, answered all our questions, and then offered us taffy. Also, the rooms, lobby and hallways were clean and stocked reasonably well enough.
On to the review... This hotel has a nice contemporary feel that is completely let down by money saving choices and poor construction.
I'll start with the bed: our queen size room had a full size mattress. The difference in width is about 6 inches, but for a full figured fellow such as myself, with my partner, those 6 inches of elbow room are quite noticeable. As you can see in the pictures, the headboard was meant for a queen, but the mattress fails to live up to the challenge. This also means the bed is shorter by a few inches, something I can feel, even though I'm of a pretty average height.
The sliding doors to the balcony are doubled paned, I suppose for insulation. Unfortunately they must not have ever been sealed properly, because there is condensation and dirt that has gathered inside ours and clouded up the view. We can still see out of them, but it looks like we're looking through a car windshield that hasn't been cleaned in a month.
Other issues involve environmental factors such as a slapping that happens regularly throughout the day and night next to our room (426).
The stay and location were otherwise quite nice. We didn't have any other issues of note.
