We got into Portland early and after going to Costco for supplies, we contacted the owner. She was gracious and accommodating by allowing us to check in early. The house is located near enough to the highway, yet in a quiet neighborhood. We used the bbq, and kitchen for all of our meals. The pots and pans were very good and we had everything we needed. Nice large, fenced backyard and covered patio. Home was in good location for a wedding we attended nearby. Some aspects that were disappointing were the condition of the kitchen area was a bit worn (peeling paint on cupboards), couch smelled like cat urine, dirt and food on kitchen floor when we arrived, noisy indoor A/C units (portable, not central A/C), and the humming, static noise from the high voltage power lines behind the property made it challenging to enjoy the backyard. A guest in our group had an unfortunate, small spill (2 tiny spots) on the kitchen table that didn't come out. We immediately notified the property owner and offered to fix the spots during our stay which they did not accept. The end result completely ruined our trip as the owner charged us over $1,000 to replace the table even though it was a small area of the table and the table was obviously worn. In all my 15 years using VRBO I have never experienced something like this from an owner. My family did the right thing by owning up to the accident, however I feel we were significantly taken advantage of for our honesty. ##### theresa d. The home was clean and the owner was responsive. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen only had service for 6 so made it a little challenging come coffee time in the morning. We were short on hand towels and wash clothes. The bath towels could use a refresh as they were fairly worn out. The location is a little less polished than we are used to but it was safe.
