When you want to escalate your cooking and try something new, a gas grill awaits your use on the backyard patio. When exploring the rest of the house you'll find five bright bedrooms with cool temperatures, thanks to the home's central air-conditioning, and many other great perks such as a basement lounge. In the lounge, your family will love to gather for games of pool, late-night snacks from the kitchenette, and board game competitions. For your absolute convenience, be sure to utilize the home's private washer/dryer. THINGS TO KNOW This property is managed by Vacasa Virginia LLC. Streaming services available with guests’ own account(s). This home is located on the public "cool" side of the lake. This home does not offer access to a community launch for guests with boats. You will have to use a public launch. Firewood is not provided, guests will have to bring their own. The hot tub is now available for guests starting the 2026 calendar year! If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 6 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Management company: poor We were so looking forward to being together as a family and enjoying early fall on the lake. A couple of days beforehand we learned of a toxic algal bloom on the lake. The management company did not inform us of this prior to our stay and the “local manager” did not contact us when we asked for additional information. We decided to go anyway and give it a chance. The algal bloom did not affect the view. But, we could not fully enjoy the property as that section of the lake was closed. The house was adequate. Enough furnished rooms, bathrooms, and parking to accommodate our needs. However, the accommodations were not overly comfortable. They provided 1 set of thin, scratchy towels per bed; stained, scented bed linens; and 1 extra blanket. The overall condition of the house was lacking. Several pieces of indoor (dining room chairs, chests of drawers, vanity, shades, windows) and outdoor furniture (umbrella, couches) were broken or appeared broken. The kitchen was unorganized and we found dirty plates, glasses, pots, and pans in the cabinets. The bathroom tile was dirty. There was a hole in the stairwell. The comfort of our stay was further reduced by general inconveniences. The coffee pot didn’t work properly. We had to go out and buy paper towels, toliet paper, dishwasher soap, and garbage bags because an inadequate supply was provided. ##### Patrick R. Each bathroom had shampoo/conditioner/body wash supplied which was an added bonus. Bring fire wood for the fire pit and towels for the lake ( home only comes with bath towels). The island in the kitchen was huge and a great spot for meals and hanging out. We used the dining room for daily games. The three separate “family room” areas made sure every one had a space. We stayed during a very hot week, upper 90s each day, so swimming in the already warm waters was reserved for mornings only. The cove is a nice retreat from the typical weekend traffic on the lake. House was perfect for our family. Even worse management company! Well this was the worst rental we have ever stayed at. The check in was typical, send you a code for the door. Upon arrival the outside of the property appearance was overgrown. The initial impression when we walked in the door was that the inside was ok. Then we started to walk around and the more we looked the worst the place got. The kitchen equipment is a mess, just about every plate is chipped, all but one pot is spalling toxic non stick material. The TV console had dust that you could write in. Then we walked out back. Grass and bushes were overgrown, the dock is falling apart, mold and grime on all outdoor seating. Trash and junk piled up in corner. Kayak had a hole in the bottom. No PFD available. We complained about the cleanliness and lack of maintenance among other things from the moment got here and the response from Vacasa was horrible. This place is overpriced and under maintained. I requested a manager to come out and walk this property down from the beginning but no one showed. We only get a chance to get our family together every couple of years for a reunion and this place was a disappointment! Not the beautiful lake experience we envisioned. Even the cleaner they sent out left behind rags and cleaning spray and dirt all over the walkway. The sliding glass doors do not look like they have been wiped down in years. The management was very responsive, we had issues getting in the first day and called the management team and they were able to assist us immediately.
