Close to Disney Park

Posted 10-Feb-2016
Pros: Location and water park is good for little ones.
Cons: Bathrooms are tiny and bath products are cheap
Location: Disney park close by.
What you would expect from a hotel in this category so I knew what I was getting into after reading previous reviews. Serves the purpose on a budget. Overall the biggest knocks: Bathrooms in room are small and not well appointed and it is literally right next to the freeway. Road noise is an issue. But hey - you can walk to the park and the water park and pool is solid.

Great hotel in a great location

Posted 31-Jan-2016
Stayed here for 2 weeks (3 adults, 2 kids) and couldn't have asked for more. Hotel was very clean, staff were great and the location is right near the freeway onramps and a very short walk to disneyland.

Close to the Park, and fun!

Posted 30-Jan-2016
Pros: Great water play area. Clean and bright decor. Watch the fireworks from your room. Great transport to airport and other places.
Cons: Offer a guest kitchen area. Complete with a toaster.
Location: Close to park, close to dining.
This is our second stay at HJ, and it was great! We are walking distance to Disneyland, and on the day we didn't visit the Park, we had a wonderful time in their Pirate Lagoon water park. The hotel was kind enough to offer us a non-CFL bulb when we asked for it, and the mini store they have offered a wide selection of items. Close to Mimi's cafe and Panera bread, a great alternative to Downtown Disney fare, that can be crowded and expensive. We'll be staying there again, if we do the same trip!

Wonderful stay

Posted 30-Jan-2016
Honestly, I love this hotel. Staff is kind, rooms are clean, and it's very spacious. The only thing I didn't like was that in our room in building four, there was an open window at the top with no curtain, so when the sun came up, there was no staying asleep.. However I've stayed here before in a different building, and I didn't have that problem!

Have stayed at Hojo's 7 times. Excellent hotel and 5 minutes walk to Disneyland. Superb friendly staff, well maintained grounds, very clean rooms with very comfortable beds.

Good budget hotel near Disneyland

Posted 26-Jan-2016
Pros: Proximity to Disneyland parks
Cons: More comfortable beds (the ones in my room seemed soft and in need of replacement), reliable wifi (better to have paid wifi that is reliable).
Dated but generally clean hotel very close to Disneyland. It is perfect for those who will use it merely for sleeping at night and be spending time at the parks or elsewhere. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the wifi is terrible (although the manager did put in a router in my room to solve that issue after I mentioned it). The manager doing that was really appreciated and especially since I did not ask for that. Overall the staff really were responsive, friendly, and helpful. I would stay here again, although next time I will explore in more detail other options too. Overall it was what one would expect from a clean "budget" hotel. I was not disappointed at all. It was pretty much exactly as described in the reviews on this site.

Great hotel near Disneyland

Posted 26-Jan-2016
Pros: Friendly staff, neat and clean rooms and that they can accommodate a family of 5 in the one suite.
Location: Good location for the Disneyland and California theme parks, We also liked Mimis restaurant (across the road) and the Cheesecake factory was nearby.
We really enjoyed our stay at Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel and Water playground. The hotel was clean, comfortable and met all our requirements. Its location to the Disneyland entrance was great - an easy 5 min walk. We did not use the water playground this stay. We loved little restaurant, Mimi's, out the front and had dinner there 3 out of our 4 nights. We needed help printing our tickets and arranging transfers and the staff were always very helpful and friendly in all dealings. Good memories from Anaheim thanks,

Perfect Disney spot

Posted 24-Jan-2016
Nice surprise ! Bought on line for price and location and found a nice respite from the madness. Grandbaby lived the water park! Warning, fireworks each evening sound like they're going off in your room , but that's the only negative!

Excellent for visiting

Posted 15-Jan-2016
Pros: Location to Disneyland and water park for kids
Cons: The hotel looks a little old.
Location: Disneyland, Outlet malls, lots of restaurants, downtown Disney, Anaheim Ducks arena not far away, right by highway.
The place is a good size and the rooms are nice and tidy. It is a little older of a hotel but kept up well. Staff is good and the water park is great for the kids. You can see the fireworks for Disney from the hotel. Great view from waterpark or pool area and if you get a room looking towards Disney you don't even have to leave your room.
