Celebrating an anniversary wanting to enjoy the beach so decided to book this resort based on the selected room type and positive feedback noted but we received the opposite experience. Booked a room with an ocean view balcony got a room with a bushy hill view balcony (back side of the property), room located next to the elevator shaft so you can hear all the gears and mechanisms of the arriving car including the door bell’s. On top of that, we feel all the other hotel guests arriving and departing sounded as if they were in our room waiting for the elevator which created an echo chamber which was annoying at best. The room we had also allowed us to hear our neighbors from the bedroom wall who unfortunately had a baby where you can hear the cries and parents discussions. Others issues that could be reported but trying to keep this short due to a comment field cap. Last item, the hotel staff did NOT seem eager to assist or accommodate us on what was suppose to be a memorable trip ringing in our anniversary. Be wise, look elsewhere.

The property was nice and convenient to the beach. However, the staff needed to be more friendly. The counter person provided no direction/instructions on the property. The bed was not comfortable, it had fuzz balls. Overall stay was ok, but won’t stay their again.

I love the location, I grew up in Dana Point and went to Doheny Beach alot ! It was great to be able to walk across to the beach. I was also impressed when the TV was not working that Agustina was able to change our room to a room with a working TV. I really appreciated that. The room was spacious and loved the view! We will sstay here again!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathtub in the room is humongous. There was trash in the bathroom waste bin when we got there and the freezer was also dirty. Besides that, the room was clean and in good condition.

Nice, quieter location, with beach right across the street. Loved the hot tub and bicycles. Full apartments, can cook in rooms. Ask about fees. Some how there is a disconnect between the hotel and booking sites.

This place was exactly what I saw on the website when i booked through hotels.com. Everything was great. I was out exploring the general areas, and didn't get to use the bikes on the beach. Next time. I will stay again and recommend to friends.

Located on busy freeway and railroad across from the ocean. Easy access to the beech and 1,5 miles walking distance from Dana Point.

Things we did not like: 1. No light in vicinity of bathtub/shower (too dark) 2. Bed mattress way too soft 3. A bit noisy with the trains and PCH traffic Things we like: 1. Free bicycle usage 2. Would not stay here again
This is a time share hotel. If you stay here for one or two nights be prepared to take your garbage down to the garage, run the dishwasher to clean whatever dishes you used, and pile up the towels in the bathroom. The beds are uncomfortable, they say they can provide a foam cushion for the hide a bed but you won't get it. There are restaurants but there is not any shopping for groceries or any necessities. And the vending machine does not work. There was a worker sawing concrete below us so we did not enjoy the patio with a view of a hillside with dead plants. The ocean view rooms were saved for timeshares.

This was my first time staying at Surfside Inn with my family, and would definitely return! We received an ocean-view room for our 10-day stay, which was a wonderful experience. So many positive things to say about this property. The staff was very friendly (received periodic check-ins to make sure we were enjoying our stay), our room was nice and clean, and property amenities were wonderful (we utilized the beach toys/chairs, bikes, pool table). Lastly, for the time we spent there they had little happy hour treats/drinks available. That was a nice surprise :)

The only thing i didnt like was not every room has an ocean view but I left sliding door open and could feel the ocean breeze so turned out to be ok.

Great place and great location. Small suggestions… If possible keep families with small children should not be on top floor….very noisy. On-site bicycles should have adjustable seats. We would come back.

An enjoyable stay, tho we both found the beds to be very hard. We were u formed we could have asked for a foam pad which would have helped There were two bedrooms so we tried each bed, but basically the same. Property is I. A great location and as the weather was not very good we were unable to use the pool area. Great place for the summer time. Some noise from the nearby road and rail line, but not too bad when doors were closed. Good Mexican restaurant next door. Easy parking for unit.

Wonderful condo at a great location
Our 1 br. condo was comfortable and roomy and the staff was very accomodating. Our grandkids love the pool and it's right across the st. from the Doheny Beach. Btw, each unit comes with a full kitchen and a bbq grill in the balcony. Also, close to markets, restaurants and shopping.

Our Room was on the first floor and that was awful; but I should have had them move us right away. The people above us were on their balcony and making so much noise that we could not go out on our balcony and our view was not very good. I take some responsibility for this cause I should have asked for a 3rd floor room when booking. I don't know if we got a crappy room because we booked with Expedia and it was a bargain room but I was disappointed. Also the walkway went right by our room so I did not feel safe and could not sleep with the windows open. I would stay there again but only if I could be on the 3rd floor

Clean and convenient. Kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/plates/utensils. Walls are well insulated against sound. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great location walkable to beach. Good parking lot.

Stayed here for Ohanafest on Sunday- was a short walk to the grounds very convenient. Room was nice, clean spacious- only weird thing was the shower cuz it was in a jacuzzi but otherwise everything was good. Would stay again

The beach right across the street which was great. The property was far enough away from the hustle and bustle but still not too far to drive to local restaurants or shopping we loved the spacious rooms and the balconies with the barbecues the food was great jacuzzi relaxing we would definitely stay here again it's a great value for the money oh and the bikes boogie boards beach towels lounge chairs and sand toys available for the guests to use while they're saying was fabulous
