Shady Pines Retreat

This newly remodeled house provides peaceful privacy with beautiful views of nature. This property gives opportunities to enjoy the peace and quite while breathing in fresh air and observing country views. Having just under a half mile long driveway allows for very few distractions but plenty of relaxation.

The South-central Wisconsin area provides many individual and family activities. This spacious "sister house" to The Scenic Getaway (294547), which is roughly 4 miles away, makes this location perfect for multi-family vacations. Vacation home is also nearby the WildCat Mountain State Park and Kickapoo Reserve where hiking, cross country skiing, sight seeing, and touring are available. Whether family and friends want to be active and take in the surrounding area or wish to simply relax while having a beautiful view, all of this can be accomplished while staying in this home.


Activities and entertainment to fit just about everyone:

BIKERS: There are miles of country back roads plus the Sparta-Elroy bike trails.

CANOE: The Kickapoo river runs through the Wildcat Mountain State Park and the Kickapoo Reserve providing some of the most scenic riverways in the area.

SNOWMOBILE: A short ride on a private trail connects to the State trails near Mt. Tabor. Once on the trails, you have unlimited route options and destinations. Southwest Wisconsin has terrific trails and the most beautiful winter scenery in the state.

FISHING: Two great trout streams--Cheyenne and Billings. Habitat restoration on miles of trout steam completed years ago. Holes of native Brook, Rainbow, and Brown trout. A fisherman's delight!

HUNTING: Thousands of acres of the Kickapoo Reserve is open to the public for hunting. Turkey and whitetail deer hunting is outstanding. Wildlife is abundant including pheasant and small game.

Fanastic rural farm house in Amish country!

Our second stay with Cedrick at this vintage farm house in Amish country in rural Wisconsin. AC works great, found the home in immaculate clean condition. We play amateur radio as a honbby and rent Ced's property once a year. Six beer drinking fellas enjoyed the fire pit, large yard for radio antennas, beautiful breeze off the nearby farm field. Is truely a relaxing, beautiful property. Ontario, WI, is the local town that is a short drive away. Meats, cheeses and beer that you would expect from mostly-Germanic Wisconsin are served in full form. Great people at Wildcats bar/restaurant recommended the local 'Amish Walmart and Bakery' which is a super delight for breakfast pasteries. Five stars; exactly as advertised, Ced was great, property clean and well maintained.

A perfect spot to gather and relax after a fun day of fishing. Having four bedrooms was greatly appreciated. The fire pit was a great way to conclude the day.

10/10 would stay again. We had 12 people in our group house was big enough to hold all of us comfortably. We had an amazing time playing games inside to going outside and having a fire. One of the nicest Vrbo’s I stayed at and Cedric was very nice and very helpful couldn’t have had a better time!

A great country farmhouse.

A great weekend at the farmhouse! Group of 10 adults worked out well. Location was perfect to get to Ontario for a Kickapoo kayaking trip. In the evenings we gathered around the excellent bonfire setup.

Wonderful old farm house!

Took a long weekend trip to the countryside in this old remodeled farmhouse. Lots of space, bedrooms clean and well kept. Shower/bathroom on upper floor wonderful. Plenty of hot water, super good air conditioning.

In stead of our annual guys camping trip we decided to rent a house for a long weekend. This farm house was perfect. The host was friendly and helpful with easy check-in. We stood up at night around the firepit and enjoyed the bright stars. Definitely coming back soon.

Quiet Retreat

We enjoyed staying here for the Labor Day weekend. Property is huge. Our dogs enjoyed running around. House was clean. Perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. Everything we needed was provided.
