DANGEROUS! We parked our car in the first stall of the hotel's parking garage right beside the lobby entrance door, in view of the security camera, with the car's security system armed. Overnight, the convertible roof was cut through ($6,500 damage to car to steal $1,500 of prescription glasses, which are useless to the thief).
Hotel management had us fill out an incident report and did nothing. There was no courtesy call, no corrective action, no complimentary room, not even a "Sorry this happened to you in our parking lot." When asked to refund our ruined stay, the manager (and the manager's manager) refused on the grounds that we "booked the stay on Expedia and it would be an admission of liability."
After the break in, we looked more closely at the security camera and found that it is not connected to anything, the wires having been removed a long time ago. This camera creates a false sense of security camera for the hotel's visitors, especially considering that the thieves almost certainly know the camera is disconnected.
