Clean and affordable

My stay was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't rate them perfect on the service because I would have liked to checked in a little bit early because we were not going to be back to the hotel until midnight. They didn't have any rooms available at 1:45pm which was completely understandable. The location was convenient to I-35. The hotel sits in front of the now defunct Great Plains Mall so there wasn't much traffic by the hotel. Parking was easy. The hotel is a bit outdated but clean. My room was sufficient and comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate and the shower was pleasant. I had a small microwave and fridge which I did not utilize. The breakfast looked decent but I had brunch in Overland Park so did not partake. Nothing fancy but a great place to stay for the price. I would choose this location again for a quick weekend getaway.

We were not pleased. Will DEFINITELY NEVER stay there again. Pulled up to a bunch of creepy looking people outside, right beside the front door, smoking and talking loudly. Only to find that one was the front desk clerk. She then followed us in and upon looking up our reservation, grabbed the phone and said she'd be right back. She took the cordless phone and went outside for over ten minutes During this time several of the suspicious looking people from outside came in and asked if anyone had helped us. She came back in and was on the phone and the computer. Then told us that she had only been there two days and had accidentally given our room away. She proceeds to tell us that she was going to give us a suite to make up for their error but it would take 20-25 to clean it for us. (Why at 9:30pm had it not been cleaned yet from the last guest?). We quickly declined due to being exhausted from working all day then traveling. Took about another ten min for her to get us checked in to our room. The room was gross. Stains on pillows, carpets felt sticky smelled musty. Definitely not a refreshing feeling to finally get into this room. The toilet paper had about 6 squares left on the roll and bathroom was dingy/not fresh and had again a sticky/dirty feel in the tile. Spend the extra money on a decent hotel in the area. Lesson learned here. I felt unsafe upon arrival and had my husband not been with me I would have left at that point. The whole experience was not a good one.

Poor hotel condition and service

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Cleanliness and staff training in manners and customer service.
Location: Close to medical facilities.
An hour to check-in, dirty run down room, broken TV, breakfast offering was coffee and toast. The hotel staff is non-existant and constantly out of the building on a smoke break. Avoid this hotel.

It's not your 4 Seasons but was much better than I had expected based on past reviews. It could have some updating done but didn't feel like I was staying in a dump.

Would go back in a pinch

They called to tell me my reservation of a month was cancelled due to they were full. We were 1 hour out and had to get hotels.com involved. They told us on several occasions they would bring things to the room but never showed. They did not clean the room or replace towels after first night. We emptied the trash and went to front desk to exchange towels.

Not a good hotel experience

We were in town for my daughters softball tournament. I called at 3:30 pm to "check-in" and make sure our room was ready. I was told "yes, you have a room with 2 double beds." When we arrived after a day of softball at 10:15, I was informed "your room is not yet ready. It will be 10 minutes." We had 2 tired kids, a tired mom and a very irritated dad! By the way, "elevator is out of order!" Yes, we were on the top floor after our 30 minute wait. The next morning we arrive downstairs for breakfast at 7:00 where breakfast is not ready. "Still heating the gravy up" in the microwave. The cereal was top notch! Would not recommend this place to ANYONE!!
